🚨“DADDY G.O. SAID SO!” – Pastor Adeboye Bans Braids, Heavy Makeup & False Eyelashes for RCCG Pastors 😳🔥
In a move that has sparked heated debate across the Nigerian Christian space and beyond, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has drawn a hard line on modern grooming and fashion trends among clergy.
Speaking during a ministers' meeting ahead of the RCCG’s annual convention, Daddy G.O didn’t mince words as he banned braided hair for male pastors and heavy makeup, false eyelashes, and false nails for female pastors.
Quoting him directly:
🗣️ "In Yorubaland, the only men who braid their hair are Sango priests, the god of thunder."
"Some say this is a new age, and we must adapt to modern trends, but not in this mission. Even after I’m gone, this will not be allowed."
"Any female pastor who appears overly made up like a Nollywood star will be removed from the altar."
"Real men don’t wear makeup because they believe God made no mistakes in their creation."
"When you begin to fix false nails, I wonder what you are trying to achieve. If God wanted to make you a bird, He would have given you false nails and eyelashes."
🛑 “If anyone questions why you are making these changes, tell them, 'Daddy GO said so.’”
He ended with a weighty remark:
“What we call grave in this age is no longer duh, it is handled through the use of mobile phones and Internet devices!”
The church internet is already on fire , some say this is the return to apostolic modesty, others claim it’s legalism wrapped in tradition. But one thing is clear: Adeboye’s stand is setting a tone for generations to come.
📌 What do YOU think?
Is this a bold prophetic stand for holiness or an overreach into personal appearance?
Let the conversations begin.
