This morning, our investments drive received a major boost with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Dubai-based company, Jampur Group to set up renewable energy (solar power) and smart electricity metering production plants in Bayelsa State.

This is purely a private-sector driven investment worth $3m by Jampur, the same company that is responsible for the supply and installation of the 60MW gas turbines for our ongoing Independent Power Plant Project expected to be ready by the end of this year.

I feel very excited that while these projects will create new job opportunities and skills to our people, it will also boost industrialisation drive in the State.

Let me appreciate the chairman of Jampur Group, Mohammed Shafiq, for the partnership with Bayelsa State Government.

For us as government, we are committed to provide the enabling environment and security to ensure the new investment thrives.

Progress Bayelsa: Great Works of Prosperity Govt

1. Ushered in peace, love, unity and reconciliation regardless of party affiliations.

2. ⁠Clearing of outstanding pensions, gratuities and death benefits!

3. Regular payment of salaries and training of civil servants.

4. Provided resources for accreditation of programmes at NDU, University of Africa, Bayelsa Medical University, Isaac Jasper College of Education, Sagbama.

5. ⁠Construction of new Science, Technical and Vocational Colleges in Ofoni, Ayamasa, Sampou, and Swali (well-equipped).

6. ⁠Completion of Imiringi Bridge.

7. ⁠Completion of Nembe Unity bridge.

8. ⁠Reconstruction of Elebele bridge.

9. ⁠Construction of Aguobiri bridge.

10. ⁠Completion of Sagbama/Ekeremor Road to open up several riverine communities.

11. Completion of Referral Hospital, Kaiama.

12. ⁠ Initiated and completed the New Administrative complex for the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme.

13. Construction of the new Ernest Ikoli Media Complex, housing the Print Media(New Wave News Paper), Niger Delta Television and Radio Bayelsa.

14. Completion of phase 2 of the GloryDrive dual-carriage road from Igbogene Ecumenical Centre to Government House.

15. Construction of New Commissioners Quarters as part of the urban renewal policy.

The Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Hon. (Barr) Perepuighe Biewari has declared celebration in the Ministry of Lands and Survey for His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri's victory in the Supreme Court. He also thank God for the assured victory of The Governor and The Deputy Governor of the State (Bayelsa) at the Tribunal, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court respectively.
