A Word In Due Season

Apostle David Wale Feso

The Church Are Saints Of God.

“To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:” 1 Corinthians 1:2 (NKJV)

The Church refers to the saints of God. A saint is not just referring to those who died in Christ, that is the beliefs of many. That is why the Bible ought to be the rule book for all matters of faith and practice.

1 Timothy 3:15 (NKJV) says, “But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

What does the word 'Saint' mean? Saint is from the Greek word 'Hagios'; this means holy ones, sacred, pure, consecrated, etc. It refers to those who have been separated to God. When you got born again the Holy Spirit sanctified you to God; in other words, you are no longer your own. You are holy and you are a saint.

Saints are not dead people, they are alive today and believe in Jesus Christ. Though there are some saints in heaven but there are some saints in the earth like you if you are a child of God.

According to our opening scripture, as a Saint in Christ Jesus you are sanctified to God. That means you are set apart and separated to God. You are no longer your own. You are now God's property. You cannot live any way you want to live and do whatever you want to do because you are a Saint.

When you know you are a Saint your behavior will fall in line because revelation governs behavior. Your behavior is a reflection of your self-perception. Until your self-perception is changed by revelation your behavior will not change.

The Local Church

“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, …” 1 Corinthians 1:2a (NKJV)

The second expression of the church is the local church. The local church refers to be Body of Christ in a particular locality as seen in our opening scripture, “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, …” This is referring to the church at Corinth which is a particular location.

We see this again in 2 Corinthians 1:1 (NKJV), “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:” Achaia refers to a region. Hence, if we stretch this further you can also talk about the regional church. Which refers to the church in a region. For example, the church in Nigeria.

In 1 Thessalonians 1:1 the Bible says, “Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: …”

Paul in the verse above does not only let us know that the church is in Thessalonians which is a region, but he also lets us know that the church is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ.

So when you get born again and you become part of the local Church, you are in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just as Christ is in you, you are in Christ. You are in the Father and the Father is in you.

Being a part of the church is more than being a part of a religious organization. You are in union with deity.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Instruction.
Please read Romans 15:5-6 and ask God to grant us to be likeminded in the Body of Christ in this nation.

For further study, read:
Galatians 1:2, Colossians 4:16, Revelation 1:11.

Doing the Word.
Walk in love towards members of the Body of Christ.

Daily Scripture Reading:
2 Chronicles chapters 22-24

And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

Revelation 1:11
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

What Is Purpose? 2

“Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:15-18 (NKJV).

The eyes of your understanding in our opening scripture refers to your faculty of deep thought or imagination. Hence, when the eyes of your understanding is enlightened, you will be able to discover purpose, and when you do, you unlock provision.

If you want to be able to enjoy the provisions God has for you, you must know your purpose. Purpose is the key to unlocking provision.

Ephesians 1:18 (NKJV) says, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; …” That is your mind being saturated with illumination. Then the Bible says, “… that you may know what is the hope of His calling …” (This means knowing God's purpose for your life.) “… what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” (That is discovering your potential)

Ephesians 1:19 (NKJV) says, “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”

Therefore when you find God's purpose for your life, you actually unlock your provision, unleash your potential and you access God's power. Praise God.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You give to me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Understanding Grace from God’s Perspective

Dearly Beloved,

Love Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to preach the Full Message of this New Life to the peoples of this world.

Welcome to July: Our Month of Grace. “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” May you have a cause to rejoice throughout this Month in Jesus Name, Amen.

Our focus today is on the subject of grace. Grace is one of the most misunderstood and misconstrued doctrines of the Bible. Yet it is one of the most important subjects it promotes.

What is grace? Grace is from the Word “Chen” or “Hen” in the Hebrew and the “Charis” in the Greek. Both words mean favor but they mean more than favor. Though favor is the most commonly used meaning. Let’s study together to see what grace means and implies from the Scriptures.

Firstly, grace is unmerited favor as demonstrated in Christ. Grace is the lavish demonstration of God’s goodness as expressed in Christ towards all men irrespective of age, gender, class, status or race. See John 1:17; 3:16; Romans 5:12-17.

Grace is the unconditional demonstration of love and goodwill towards while we were yet undeserving. See Ephesians 2:1-9; Romans 5:8. G.R.A.C.E is God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Grace is God’s willingness to use His Power and His resources for your benefit because of Christ and His vicarious work on the cross. See Romans 5:1-2 (AMP). Christ is grace personified. See Titus 2:11; 3:4-7.

Secondly. grace is ability. The Apostle paul speaks of the grace that is given unto him according to the effectual working of God’s Power that enabled him to be a minister. See Ephesians 3:7,8; Galatians 2:7-9. Grace, therefore, is the divine ability to do effortlessly what is humanly or naturally impossible.

For instance, when you look at someone’s life and their accomplishment and you say, “That guy is graced.” You are saying that they are endowed with some special ability or something. That is another expression of grace in the Bible. Grace is a divine enablement for your God given assignment. See Romans 1:5; Acts 14:26; 15:40; 1 Corinthians 3:10; 15:10; 1 Peter 4:10-11.

Thirdly, grace is the divine empowerment to live above sin or to overcome sin. See Romans 6:14; Titus 2:11-14. The Law could not produce righteousness. In fact according to 1 Corinthians 15:56, “The strength of sin is the Law.” (KJV) But the English Standard Version (ESV) says, “The power of sin is the law.” Check it out yourself. Grace makes men righteous and empowers them to live right. True grace is NEVER a license to sin but an empowerment to live above sin. See Romans 6:15-22; 1 Corinthians 1:12 ESV.

Fourthly, Grace is also the outworking of the influence of God’s Spirit. Grace is the defining character of God’s work in a person or a Body or group of people. See Acts 4:33; 6:8; 11:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12. For instance, when you observe the work of God’s Spirit in the life of the Macedonian Church, Paul The Apostle calls it the grace of God. See 2 Corinthians 8:1-7. It is grace that makes men generous. It is called the grace of giving. It is also grace that makes us prayerful. See Zechariah 12:10. Grace, therefore, is the outworking of God’s Spirit or the outworking of the divine influence.

There’s more but we will stop here for today. Thanks for reading through this letter. May God cause His grace to abound towards you to put you over the challenges that each day brings.

May His grace empower you to overcome your bad habits and your secret faults. And above all, may God’s grace overwhelm your life and make it a beautiful expression of the goodness of God. Selah

Blessings,
