DISCLAIMER: HON. MARIE ENENIMIETE EBIKAKE IS NOT CONDUCTING ANY PAID FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

The Office of Hon. Marie Enenimiete Ebikake, Member representing Brass–Nembe Federal Constituency in the House of Representative wishes to alert the general public to a fraudulent scheme currently being circulated across social media platforms, SMS and calls in Bayelsa State.

The false information claims that the lawmaker is organizing a financial empowerment programme and that interested participants are required to pay the sum of ₦18,500 before they can benefit. Our findings reveal that this fraudulent activity has been ongoing for the past six weeks and is allegedly being coordinated by an individual identified as “Dr. Chan Francis,” who has been distributing forms to unsuspecting members of the public.

We wish to state categorically that this information is false and misleading. The member representing Brass-Nembe Federal constituency in the house of representatives is not organizing any paid financial empowerment programme. Furthermore, if and when she undertakes any empowerment initiative, beneficiaries will never be required to pay any amount of money to participate or benefit.

Hon. Ebikake has a proven record of carrying out free and impactful empowerment programmes. Most recently, she facilitated critical medical interventions for constituents, restoring hope to visually impaired individuals through treatments and surgeries at St. Joseph Eye Specialist Hospital, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. Despite the enormous costs incurred for transportation, medical investigations, and surgical procedures, no beneficiary was asked to pay a kobo.

The public is therefore advised to disregard any message, advertisement, or request for payment associated with any purported empowerment programme in the name of Hon. Marie Enenimiete Ebikake. Those behind this scheme are fraudsters whose sole aim is to deceive and exploit innocent citizens.

For authentic information regarding the activities and programmes of Hon. Marie Enenimiete Ebikake, members of the public are encouraged to rely only on official communication channels.

Members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Oporoma, have ratified Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration through a voice vote and unanimously endorsed Bayelsa Central Senatorial aspirant, Reuben Okoya.

At the end of the direct primary election, Diepreye Ambaiye Leghemo and other candidates emerged unopposed across federal and state constituencies, signalling party unity and cohesion, ahead polls.

Queen Ebitenye Okalizibe, a 20-year-old from NEMBE LGA,Bayelsa State, has graduated with first-class honors in Law from the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola. She participated in the university's 2026 convocation ceremony, celebrating her remarkable achievement.

Residents of Ogbogbene Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State gathered in large numbers to receive Comrade KOUFA Samuel Akpoabo-Owei, as he formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, representing Ekeremor Constituency 1.

The declaration, held in his hometown, attracted community leaders, youths, and stakeholders, signaling growing political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections. The event was marked by strong expressions of support, with many describing his candidacy as a direct response to the call by constituents for purposeful and effective representation.

Addressing the gathering, Koufa affirmed that his decision to join the race was driven by consistent appeals from his people, who have urged him to step forward and represent their collective interests. He noted that the move reflects a shared aspiration to reposition the constituency for sustainable growth and development.

He further highlighted the longstanding developmental challenges facing riverine communities within the constituency. According to him, Ogbogbene still lacks completed government projects, while critical infrastructure such as the primary school and healthcare centre—originally constructed by Shell—have deteriorated and require urgent attention.

Koufa emphasized that effective legislative representation, backed by robust oversight, would address these gaps and attract meaningful development. He also aligned his ambition with the “Renewed Hope for Assured Prosperity” agenda of the current administration, stressing the need for inclusive growth across all communities.

A native of Ogbogbene in Ward 4, Koufa has held several leadership positions, including President of Ekeremor LGA Students Worldwide and member of the NUBSS G8. He currently serves as the Worldwide President of the University of Africa Alumni Association, where he leads the association’s pioneering executive council.

He expressed appreciation to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, his deputy, Hon. Pastor Peter Pereotubo Akpe, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in the state for their roles in advancing governance and development.

The declaration marks an early phase of political consultations and mobilization in Ekeremor Constituency 1, as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
