‎EDTF To Continue Collaboration With Stakeholders For Improved Education Delivery In Bayelsa State

‎The Bayelsa State Education Development Trust Fund, EDTF has expressed commitment to continued partnership with the State Teachers Training Registration and Certification Board, TTRCB and the British Council to sustain the training of teachers and school heads to achieve improved education delivery in the state.

‎The Executive Secretary of EDTF, Dr Alice Atuwo made the commitment in her remarks during the opening ceremony of a Five-Day Capacity Building Programme for four hundred teachers and school heads from public Primary and Secondary Schools in Bayelsa State on STEP STRIDE, SPRINT and School Leadership.

Governor Douye Diri Offers Automatic Employment To First Class Graduates of University of Africa.

In a significant move to curb the brain drain syndrome and enhance employment opportunities for its youth, Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has announced the provision of automatic employment for all First Class degree graduates of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), located in Sagbama Local Government Area. This landmark decision was made during the maiden combined convocation ceremony for the academic sessions of 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2024.

Governor Diri emphasized that this initiative is part of his administration's broader commitment to prioritize education and foster human capital development within the state. He noted that similar employment opportunities have already been extended to graduates from other state-owned tertiary institutions, such as the Niger Delta University, Amassoma.

"This gesture is aimed at encouraging excellence in academic pursuits while ensuring that our brightest minds have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the developmental goals of our state," Senator Diri stated.

Bayelsa State House Of Assembly, Committee on Education Commends EDTF for Meaningful Interventions

The Committee on Education Bayelsa State House of Assembly has commended the State Education Development Trust Fund, EDTF for meaningful Interventions that are positively shaping the education sector in the State.

Chairman, House Committee on Education, Dr Daniel Charles gave the commendation while leading other members to undertake an inspection tour, in exercise of their oversight functions, to ascertain the level of intervention on some schools by the EDTF.
The schools visited are Government Science & Technical College, Okaka and the International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, Yenagoa.

SILGA Federal Constituency Rep Presents Scorecard on Two-Year Stewardship.

Hon. Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaowei, the representative for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives yesterday 14th June 2025 visited Governor Douye Diri to express gratitude and present a scorecard detailing his achievements over the past two years.

Bayelsa State Government Empowers Educators through TTRCB Teacher Training Programme.

The Bayelsa State Government, through the Teacher Training, Registration and Certification Board (TTRCB), is committed to enhancing educational quality.

Acting Chairman Dr. Stella Peremobo-ere Ugolo charged the over 300 head teachers and vice principals to actively participate in training opportunities.

This appeal was made at the opening ceremony for the 12th batch of the teachers training and retraining program held at University Africa, Bolou - Orua campus Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State on June 3, 2025.
