People of Igeibiri urge other industrious sons and daughters to emulate Rex’s gesture as he puts smiles on their faces

It was a moment of joy and celebration in Igeibiri community as a son of the soil and the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Honourable Rex Flint George, put smiles on the faces of youths and elders during the commemoration of Rex Day.
The event, which promoted peace, unity, and love among the people, featured activities such as a canoe race, cross-country race, football match, and traditional wrestling, with attractive prizes to be won. The celebration climaxed with a get-together party and was witnessed by political associates, family members, and friends.
These are highlights from the event, showing men, women, and elders expressing excitement as youths sang traditional songs during the road walk.
Winners of the various competitions, Ikisa Bright Grant, Osibo Ruth, and Fred Ibena, expressed joy over their victories and thanked the sponsor, Honourable Rex Flint George, for promoting peace and togetherness during the festive season.
They also spoke on the significance of the programme and encouraged other industrious sons and daughters to initiate similar activities to promote peace and unity in communities such as Igeibiri, Obololi, Ayama, and others.
Adding their voices, His Royal Highness, King Grant Nathaniel Ikisa-Mein, the Amananowei of Igeibiri Community, alongside the Director-General of the Centre for Youth Development, Comrade Robert Igali JP, commended the positive lifestyle of Honourable Rex Flint George and called on others to emulate his gesture, noting that making the festive season a time of fun and unity is commendable.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Honourable Rex Flint George, appreciated God for the success of the programme. He said he feels fulfilled when his people appreciate his little efforts, adding that the essence of Rex Day is to promote peace, unity, and communal harmony.
Youths, in their numbers, presented a portrait to the Honourable Commissioner and conferred on him a title, “Domomieowei I of Tarakiri Clan,” in appreciation of his contributions to community development.
