Dr Samuel Ogbuku Commends NDDC's Postgraduate Scholarship Programme Graduates

The Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku has commended the most recent graduates of the Commission’s Postgraduate Scholarship Programme in the United Kingdom. Below is the NDDC Boss's speech.

'I was in the United Kingdom to celebrate with the NDDC scholars who recently concluded their postgraduate studies at Coventry University, England—remarkably, 32 of them graduated with distinctions.

It is particularly commendable that none of our scholars have ever been linked to any form of misconduct. They have consistently upheld the values of the Commission and represented the Niger Delta region with integrity and excellence. Their exemplary conduct and academic success deserve our highest commendation.

Under my leadership, the NDDC remains steadfast in its commitment to investing in the education of our resilient youth. We firmly believe that the global exposure provided by this scholarship programme equips our brothers and sisters with the skills and perspective needed to thrive in today’s competitive and fast-changing world.'

TRENDING: NDDC Scholars Excel in UK University

In a recent post on the Niger Delta Development Commission's (NDDC) official page, The Commission, has celebrated 32 beneficiaries of its Post Graduate Scholarship Programme, who graduated with distinctions from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.

The NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, led a delegation of NDDC directors to join the students at their graduation ceremony in Coventry. In the team were the Directors of Education, Health, and Social Services, Dr. George Uzonwanne, Dr. Angela Awele Chukwudifu, and Deputy Director, Dr. Bomiegha Ehiokioya.

Addressing the scholars at Coventry University, the NDDC Chief Executive Officer praised the scholars for being good ambassadors of the Niger Delta region, noting that no scholar from the Commission had ever been associated with any vice or misconduct.

Breaking: President Bola Tinubu Extends the Comptroller-General of Customs Tenure

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

The Presidency announces that the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, which is due to expire on August 31, 2025, has been extended by one year.

The extension, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will enable Mr. Adeniyi to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives of this administration, including:

• The modernisation of the Nigeria Customs Service;
• The implementation of the National Single Window Project; and
• The ex*****on of Nigeria’s obligations under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) protocol.

President Tinubu recognises Mr. Adeniyi’s steadfast leadership and commitment to service. The President is confident that this extension will further strengthen the Nigeria Customs Service in achieving its strategic mandate of trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security.
