Residents of Adamawa State have commended the State Police Command for its dedication and commitment to safeguarding lives and property. This commendation comes as part of the 2025 Customer Service Week celebration.

Citizens, community leaders, and civil society groups expressed appreciation for the Command's professionalism and prompt response to distress calls. Many described the Command, under CP Dankombo Morris, as a model of service excellence.

The Command's efforts in promoting peace, accountability, and respect for human rights across the state have been praised.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, highlighted the Command's commitment to accountability and professionalism.

CP Dankombo Morris noted that the Command has strengthened collaboration with stakeholders and embraced community-oriented policing strategies. This approach aims to effectively address emerging security challenges in the state.

ADAMAWA POLICE NAB 72 SUSPECTS, VOW TOUGHER ACTION ON CRIME.

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 72 suspects for offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, theft, homicide, and sexual crimes.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, made the announcement on Friday in Yola during the Command’s third-quarter review meeting with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Departments (HODs).

He explained that 57 suspects have already been arraigned in court, while investigations continue on 15 others. Morris assured residents that the Command remains relentless in tackling crime across the state.

Highlighting recent breakthroughs, the CP disclosed that police operatives rescued several abducted victims, including 13 trafficked children recovered through ACP Shuaibu Wara’s team and five others rescued in Mubi by ACP Markus Mancha. In another operation, Gombi Division officers, with the support of local hunters, freed a kidnapped victim after engaging abductors in a gun duel.

Recovered items during the period included 15 fi****ms, 111 rounds of live ammunition, seven stolen vehicles, and 25 rustled cattle, all of which are being returned to their owners.

Morris emphasized that his administration is not only focused on crime-fighting but also on reforming police conduct. He cautioned officers against unprofessional practices such as meddling in civil disputes, unlawful arrests, and corruption, stressing that the Nigeria Police Act, 2020, and the Constitution remain the guiding principles of policing.

“The unlawful arrest or intimidation of parties in civil matters such as debt recovery, tenancy or land disputes will not be tolerated. Officers found guilty will face serious consequences,” he warned.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting citizens’ fundamental human rights, insisting that dignity, liberty, and fair hearing must never be compromised.

NIGERIA @65: APC Youths Launch Free Medical Outreach In Adamawa.

Amalgamation of APC Youth Organizations in Adamawa State has launched a free medical outreach to improve access to healthcare services for residents.

This gestures was part of Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations organized by group.

The program kicked off in Rumde Ward, Yola North Local Government.

Chairman of the organization, Comrade Mohammed Ahmed Marafa, thanked Malam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser, and Comrade Mustapha Salihu for their support.

Marafa also explained that, the initiative will help bridge the healthcare gap and provide relief to the less privileged.

The medical outreach, which started at Kofan Mai Anguwa, Rumde, is be extended to Yola South, Maiha, and Ganye Local Government Areas.

Comrade Mustapha Salihu is providing free consultations, laboratory tests, and surgical procedures to communities in need.

OUT-OF-SCHOOL SYNDROME: Adamawa Govt, UNICEF's Joint Project Achieves Remarkable Success.

The Accelerated Basic Education Program, implemented by the Adamawa State Government in collaboration with UNICEF, has achieved remarkable success.

Initially targeting 7,200 learners, the project realized 12,000 learners across 123 learning centers in Gombi, Lamurde, and Madagali local government areas.

These learning centers, such as the one at Alema Kwanan Yaji IDP Camp in Gombi, have transformed the lives of children who previously roamed the streets.

UNICEF's Education Specialist, Dr. Abdulrahman Ado, provided an overview of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) project.

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Umar Garba Pella, represented by Permanent Secretary Aisha Muhammed Umar, assured that the state government has made arrangements to sustain the project's impact.

As the GPE project concludes on September 30, 2025, sustainability is crucial.

The seminar, themed “Forging a Unified Front: Building a Cohesive, Strategic, and Victorious APC Youth Umbrella for Adamawa 2027,” aimed at fostering unity and strengthening youth leadership capacity.

Convener Mohammed Ahmed Marafa revealed the program's benefits, citing it as a "Ground Game for Building Confidence and Leadership" for Adamawa youths.

Facilitator Professor Chidi Ouoniwu spoke on "Digital Leaders Playbook; Leveraging ICT for Influence, Innovation, and Impact."

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 3 Command Headquarters, comprising Adamawa and Taraba States, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has paid a familiarization visit to Adamawa State. Speaking during the event, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, outlined the command's recent successes. He noted the arrest of high-profile suspects, including kidnappers and members of the notorious Shila Boys gang, as well as the recovery of arms and ammunition. The CP also highlighted the rescue of four kidnapped victims and 13 trafficked children, among other achievements of the command recently.

Representing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Ahmed Lawan, Senior Special Adviser to the governor on community peace and security, described the working relationship between the state government and the police as cordial. Ahmed Lawan reaffirmed the government's commitment to sustaining peace and pledged to support the renovation of roads and infrastructure within the police command.

The Adamawa State PCRC Chairman, Bubakari Kamale, underscored the symbiotic relationship between the police and the community, noting that the state's relative peace is a result of the police force's hard work. He called for even greater intelligence sharing to achieve more successes.

In his remarks, AIG Adeniran said the visit provided an opportunity to interact with officers and critical stakeholders. He stressed that effective policing requires a whole-of-community approach built on unity, resilience, and collaboration, which he described as essential for promoting peaceful coexistence.

ADAMAWA POLICE RESCUE FIVE ABDUCTED CHILDREN IN MUBI

The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children suspected to have been abducted and brought into Adamawa from Maiduguri, Borno State.

The incident happened on 13th September 2025, when the Area Commander of Mubi, ACP Marcos Mancha, acting on credible intelligence, led a surveillance team that intercepted the children while they were wandering the streets of Mubi town.

The victims were identified as 16-year-old Adamu Musa, 10-year-old Suleiman Idris, 11-year-old Suleiman Mohammed, 11-year-old Dauda Yahaya, and 11-year-old Mohammed Alhassan—all residents of Gwange in Maiduguri.

Police investigations revealed that the children were taken from Maiduguri by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, who is now on the run. Efforts are ongoing to track down the suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the Area Commander and his team for the rescue operation. He directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case, ensure the suspect’s arrest, and reunite the children with their parents.

The Commissioner also reassured the public of the Command’s determination to protect lives and property across the state.

EDUCATION REVOLUTION: NUADSS Backs Fintiri's Transformative Policies.

The National Union of Adamawa State Students (NUADSS) has pledged its total support and loyalty to the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, citing "historic and life-changing reforms in the education sector."

Speaking at a press conference in Yola, NUADSS President Comrade Musa S. Umar commended the governor's commitment to making education the bedrock of his administration.

He highlighted key reforms, including free and compulsory basic education, renovation of over 1,600 classrooms, provision of more than 85,000 desks, construction of boreholes and perimeter fencing in schools, payment of WAEC and NECO fees, and scholarships for indigent students.

The Adamawa State Police Command has organized an in-house refresher training for its officers and men as part of efforts to build a more re-oriented and effective workforce.

The training, which took place on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, was held under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+).

Delivering a lecture on the topic “Use of Discretion,” the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, DCP John D. Sendere, PSC (+), emphasized the importance of applying common sense, wisdom, and tactical reasoning in decision-making.

He explained that discretion enables officers to achieve positive results without necessarily relying on directives or supervision, provided they act within the confines of the law. He further advised that the use of discretion must always be anchored on good sense, wisdom, and tactical application.
