King Pelé was invited to Nigeria to guest-star with Fluminense, a Brazilian club, during their tour and played in goodwill exhibition matches.
He played a friendly match in Kaduna on April 26, 1978, between Fluminense and Raccah Rovers.
Fans' excitement was so overwhelming that he only played the first half.
He was honored with a Babban Riga and Zannah cap, traditional Nigerian attire.
During the tour, he also played exhibition games in other cities like Ibadan and Lagos.
