𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬: 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜, 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
The story of two brothers with roots in Pearl Lagoon, Nicaragua, is a testament to determination, family support, and the opportunities that can emerge through hard work and dedication.
“From Pearl Lagoon, Nicaragua, we decided to move to this country in search of a better life and greater opportunities. Look at you, my boy, you have truly made your family proud,” wrote Sherlyn Cuthbert Hebbert, a Creole woman originally from Pearl Lagoon who now lives in the United States with her sons, Dominic and Dante Anderson.
Many in Nicaragua may already be familiar with the achievements of Dante Anderson Hebbert, who recently won multiple medals at World Martial Arts Championships, showcasing exceptional talent, discipline, and commitment on the international stage.
Today, however, the spotlight turns to his older brother, Dominic Anderson, 18, who was born in Nicaragua and has distinguished himself both academically and athletically as a soccer player.
Recently, Dominic graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy with outstanding honors. During the graduation ceremony, he received the prestigious Veritas et Puritas Award, the highest recognition bestowed upon a graduating senior, as well as ten additional awards for his academic excellence, leadership, and service. His remarkable achievements also earned him the opportunity to address his classmates and guess, during the commencement graduation ceremony.
The Veritas et Puritas Award takes its name from the Academy’s motto, “Truth and Purity,” adopted by the Sisters of St. Joseph when the school was founded in 1882. Each year, the award is presented to a graduating senior who best exemplifies the school's core values of love of God, love of neighbor, integrity, service, and academic excellence.
Throughout his years at Mount St. Joseph Academy, Dominic maintained high academic honors, actively served his community through volunteer work and acts of kindness, and consistently demonstrated the virtues of faith, hope, and charity. He is also a member of the Josephite Chapter of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, and the National Art Honor Society.
This fall, Dominic will begin his college studies at Saint Michael’s College, marking another important milestone in a promising future.

Congratulations to Dominic Anderson on this outstanding achievement. We wish him continued success in his academic journey and future endeavors.
Congratulations as well to his mother, Sherlyn Cuthbert Hebbert; his grandfather, Mr. Kern; his grandmother, Mrs. Ingrid; and to Nicaragua, the country where this remarkable young man was born.
The family has even more reasons to celebrate, as Dominic’s younger brother, Dante Anderson Hebbert, is also reaching an important milestone. Dante is scheduled to graduate from the eighth grade on Saturday, June 13, and will begin his high school studies in the upcoming academic year.
Already recognized for his success in international martial arts competitions, Dante continues to excel both academically and athletically, adding another achievement to the family's growing list of accomplishments.
