🦎 Corn Island Anole (Anolis nubilis)
The Corn Island anole is a rare species of lizard found only on Great Corn Island, Nicaragua. This unique reptile is endemic, meaning it doesn’t exist anywhere else on Earth. It thrives in the island’s tropical environment, often seen basking on trees, rocks, or even around homes and gardens.
Unlike many mainland anoles, the Corn Island anole has adapted to island life, developing its own look and behavior patterns. Though small in size, it's an important part of the island’s ecosystem and a great example of the region’s unique biodiversity.
📍 Found only on: Great Corn Island
🌿 Habitat: Forested areas, gardens, and human-populated zones
📸 Fun Fact: It’s one of the few creatures you can only see if you visit this Caribbean island!
