Happy Kingsday! 🎉🇳🇱☀️
It’s a national holiday today celebrating the Kings birthday. It’s a tradition in the Netherlands to wear something in the colour orange because the family name of our Royal family is “Oranje”. 🧡

Because of COVID all festivities are cancelled but still lots of people going out on the street to celebrate. More reason for my husband and me to stay at home in self-isolation. I hope we will get our vaccination in June. 😅🙏

One of the perks of a mobile office is to get to choose your view (most of the time 😊). For example, sitting in a boat yard hall watching sailing yachts in the workshop is a great change of view. 😍⛵️
Our sailing yacht is still in the yard hall being refitted, taking longer than planned and needs at least one more month 😅. Anxiously waiting untill we can sail again and live and work on board for weeks on end. 🙏🥰⛵️💜

It has been more than one year ago that I left my office to work from home because of the pandemic. At that time I loved every minute I could work at home and enjoy the coffee breaks in the garden whenever it was sunny. Now suddenly, that has become the normal.

Sometimes life suddenly gives you what you have wished for and when your wish has been granted, what then? Why can’t we be satisfied and why do we look for more? When that is the case, one should rethink what the real wish is, and most of the time it is something totally different.

Luckily, I never asked for much and I’m happy with just being able to work on my laptop on the couch. Everything extra that comes on my path is a present from life. I love this quote from the film A Change of Seasons:

“We enter this world and leave this world alone. Everything else is a gift.”

This is the strangest Easter I have witnessed. Not only because of COVID, not celebrating it with my family having a delicious Easter lunch together, but it is snowing and hailing now, with the magnolia blooming in the garden, and now and then with the sun peeping through with a vigour that makes it feel like summer. 🤔🐣☀️🌨❄️🌼
Well, it does make a great day to catch up with the administration. 😂😇

A web site I worked on in March for who is doing the engineering of the hybrid system with an electric motor for our sailing yacht. Another step towards our dream to work and liveaboard sailing around the world next year. 🙏⛵️💜

COVID has changed the world in how we see our lives, our connections, work, and things we have always taken for granted. I’m grateful we live in this digital era that gives us a way to stay connected, to be able to organise things and the many opportunities it provides.

My husband and I are both working hard to arrange our businesses in such a way that we can do it online wherever we are. So why not combine it with our dream to sail. Of course, this doesn’t happen overnight. We have been working on this goal for the last 5 or 6 years to get to this point. 🤩⛵️✨

The weeks are flying by when you’re busy! Is it Friday already?! 😅 Who else is also thinking the weeks are too short? 😂😇

Time really flies when you are having fun! Yep, that means that I love what I’m doing for work. Am I just lucky? I wouldn’t say so, because I take chances, go out of my comfort zone and continuously seek out new things to better my work. Being my iwn boss also means I am self responsible for everything. Last 3 weeks I have put in 50 to 60 hours of work per week.💪🔥

I’m glad, though, to be finishing up one of the two web sites I’m working on. And two days ago the local election campagne I’m helping with, ended. The national and local result is more than satisfactory, so that is also energizing! ✨☄️💪

And today is such a bright and sunny day that I can sit outside having my coffee without wearing a coat at 10 degrees celsius! Life is good! 🥰☀️🙏💜

I have been very busy lately with building two websites and there’s another one in the planning. Also busy with the Second Chamber Elections campagne, being the webmaster and social media manager of one of the local political parties. A busy schedule makes it very important to have something that relaxes the mind and body. 😅🙏

This is a yoga web site from my portfolio. 💚 That was a lovely project, some years ago, using photos I shot during one of her yoga classes. So much fun to do. 😄 I even took some classes because Kundalini yoga gives the body a good workout, also by special breathing techniques. With the COVID-19 lockdown it might be a good thing to do some yoga again on a beautiful Sunday like today. Nowadays there are many online classes to join. 🧘🏻‍♀️ Have a great Sunday, everyone! 🙏☀️

A week ago we celebrated Chinese New Year. Due to COVID-19 we couldn’t celebrate it with my family as we did every year. This celebration is an important part of my culture and also means a time of family bonding. 💜 So, to celebrate CNY I ordered oysters to be delivered at my mother’s and siblings’ homes on that day as a surprise. Sure enough, we had a great day after all, enjoying the oysters with champagne “together”. 🥰🍾🥂💜

It’s been raining since Monday after more than a week of snow and scenes of a winter wonderland all around us. ❄️💙 All kinds of distraction from work. 😂
To get some inspiration and motivation I look at pictures of last summer when we sailed in the archipelagos on the Swedish west coast and worked from our sailing yacht. I love this little corner that was my floating office. Yes, this is my dream and inspiration! 🥰💜 Lots of work to finish before the end of the week! Let’s do it! 💪🤗
