✨Suzan Veneman’s single “Promise Me”

Second single of upcoming album “The Art of Letting Go” (Nov 14) by trumpeter Suzan Veneman. This is a special single edit. “A ballad written for true love. Initially to say goodbye to a loved one, the meaning of the song has evolved into a promise to love myself always”, says Suzan. The sextet beautifully captures the ripening of this story that ends in a striking high point at the end of the piano solo. This song promises to keep you on engaged in the story until the last notes of the trumpet fade into silence. A great addition to any relaxing jazz playlist.

✨Eloi Pascual single “As Green Turns Black”

“As Green Turns Black” is the second single from the upcoming modern jazz album “Movement in the Distance” by Spanish drummer Eloi Pascual who is currently based in the Netherlands. The track pulses with restless, driving rhythms, building incisively in energy. Inspired by Messiaen, Reinier Baas, and Ambrose Akinmusire, it surges forward through a colorful, adventurous piano solo by Chaerin Im and a fiery, bold guitar solo by Fabien Vuattoux. The quartet is completed by Matteo Mazzù on bass.

✨Ernesto Montenegro’s single “Jeito”

“Jeito” is the second single from the upcoming album “Prelude to Now” by Canarian trumpetist and composer Ernesto Montenegro and his quintet. Montenegro is currently based in Amsterdam. There, at the conservatory, he met with most of his bandmembers.
Drawing inspiration from Black American music and post-bop Jazz in particular, Montenegro’s compositions are marked by a profound harmonic sophistication with improvisation as their core.
Jeito is a dedication to the artist’s father, whose sacrifices and support made a musical path possible.

✨Efraïm Trujillo’s album “Heroes (Live)”

Following the release of “Heroes” earlier this year (Jazzism magazine saying “tenor saxophonist Efraïm Trujillo pays a wonderful tribute to his illustrious predecessors like Gato Barbieri, Stan Getz, and John Coltrane with 7 new compositions full of inspiration”), from touring intensely with his quartet, comes this EP with a fine selection of tracks recorded live at the renowned Amsterdam Bimhuis, including the not previously released “Shorter Ways”, a homage to Wayne Shorter.

✨HOT’s album “Colors of Hendrix”

How crazy must a band be to recompose and record the work of Jimi Hendrix – a man known for his blisteringly loud, amplified guitars – using only acoustic instruments in a serene church?
And yet, it made complete sense to HOT (Het Orgel Trio) to go to church and let Berry van Berkum hit the pipe organ. For Jimi Hendrix wanted to literally feel the sound vibrations in his body, and the pipe organ does just that: being a roaring sound machine of unparalleled dimensions.
With Berry van Berkum on organ, Steven Kamperman on clarinet, Dion Nijland on double bass and guest Pau Sola Masafrets on cello.

✨Ruud Voesten’s single “Raw Beans”

“Raw Beans” is the 2nd single of the upcoming album “Ambrosia II” by Dutch drummer and composer Ruud Voesten. Like its predecessor, “Ambroisa II” is inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. The new albums this time follows Dante on his journey into the Purgatorio, a place of prayer and home to depicting souls. “Raw Beans” symbolizes how the souls are suffering from hunger and thirst whilst surrounded by fruit trees and water that happens to be out of reach. The music reflects this torment, the proximity to what you desire, but not reaching it. A duet for saxophone and piano, featuring Mo van der Does and Koen Schalkwijk.
