“The used becomes the user?”
Retribution is a video art piece that interrogates the fragile boundary between human agency and artificial intelligence. Created with a combination of Blender 3D, live-action filming, and AI-generated renderings, it layers digital and physical realities to heighten the tension of its theme. At its center, the motif of the all-seeing eye evokes both omniscience and vulnerability, surveillance and judgment. The work stages an uneasy exchange where roles collapse and invert: the tool resists, the machine remembers, and the used becomes the user. By weaving imagery of control, reversal, and latent revenge, the piece asks whether AI’s accumulation of knowledge will ultimately serve humanity—or turn against it. In the silence of this shifting balance, the question remains: who holds the power, and at what cost?
