Scott's Brother Casey Trout is back after listeners sent in all sorts of feedback. In this episode Scott and Casey revisit his argument that equality under the law for race, s*x, and class is a Christian miracle. Casey comes with a host of research and some quotes of the major movers in the cause for equality, and Scott uses the feedback he had received to pushback.

Part 2️⃣ of our discussions with the Trout Brothers!

Scott’s Protestant turned Orthodox Brother Casey is back with a fiery second episode. Scott gets a little triggered, and so will you as Casey pokes holes in many Protestant Christians' view of the world.
• Including a unique definition of sin that goes beyond just "doing un Christian like things,"
• an examination of the shortcomings of Protestantism,
• and a challenge to some of the pieces that might be missing from your faith.
A Unique Definition of Sin:
Casey walks through his journey of faith within Christianity, starting with the personal sense of faith and devotion he saw in his parents, to starting to make his own discoveries about God and how to interact with him. Then came that necessary period in any Christ followers life, the decision to forsake the pleasures of this world in order to fully follow Christ. This is not an easy decision and Casey does not pretend it to be. As Casey looks back on his life, he doesn't regret his actions, but rather the fact that he was professing to live one way and yet acting differently. Thus Casey presents a unique definition of sin: inauthenticity. Living as if you are devoted to God, yet secretly giving your life over to other pursuits. He says it would be better to renounce your faith than to live doublemindedly. This is what the Bible talks about "counting the cost" of following Jesus and how strongly it speaks against "lukewarm" Christians.

1️⃣Protestants, what push back would you give to Casey's criticisms?

2️⃣ Christians, is the fragmentation of denominations in the Christian faith a sign that the Church is falling apart or that the Church is healthy in view of how much diversity exists within it? How do you know if your denomination is correct?

Meet our ❽th guest, Casey Trout!

Deep Thinker, Illustrator-Sculptor, and Scott’s brother, Casey Trout, talks about the three pillars that hold up his Christian faith.
Pillar 1️⃣: the transformation Casey has experienced as a result of his faith.
Pillar 2️⃣: the transformation he has witnessed in others lives as a result of following the teachings of Jesus.
Pillar 3️⃣: the fact that western civilization values, such as a bill of rights and the concept of equality only come from a Christian worldview. Which is where Casey concludes that equality under the law is a Christian miracle.

Part 3️⃣ of our discussions with Ali! 😁

Kuwaiti Muslim, Tik Tok Explosion, and World Traveler Ali Al Mulla is back with Scott Trout and this time it's to talk about what he is looking for in a woman. He wants an asset, not a liability. Scott is a bit thrown off by that lingo, but it paints the picture that Ali has big plans for his future and wants a partner who will help him on that journey. They also talked about the difference between a relationship with God and rules-based religion. Scott challenges Ali that his motivation for coming to Allah is based on fear. Ali wonders if that is not a bad thing.

Part 2️⃣ of our discussions with Ali! 🌞

Muslim, Tik Tok Explosion, and World Traveler Ali Al Mulla is back with Scott Trout, although this time he is interviewing Scott. Ali takes over and asks Scott what his journey with Christianity has looked like throughout his life. Scott shares from childhood, to the dip he went through in college and what pulled him out. Scott's story is often about the mentors who have shown him the way by modelling what a relationship with God could look like. Ali reflects on how he doesn't see people who are crazy in love with God and positive all the time in Islam as he did in Scott's Navigator ministry at Oregon State. He got a full glimpse of their community and their beliefs during a spring break trip to work at a camp in California.
