How to get to Grasweg Studio?

Grasweg Studio is located in Amsterdam Noord (Grasweg 41R, 1031 HW Amsterdam). Take the ferry from Centraal Station to Buiksloterweg, from there it is about 15 minutes walking / 5 minutes cycling.

When you arrive on Grasweg at number 41, you will see a barrier to a private driveway into an industrial area. Walk / cycle past the barrier and continue straight until you get to building 41R.

This is not a public venue but a private studio space. So you will not see any signs or much info online about it. Just follow the map to the address and you will find it.

What is the story behind Xilent Records?

Founded in 2022 by Amsterdam-based artists Jonathan Nagel, Maya Felixbrot, and Alba Boustanji, Xilent Records is a platform that aims to foster and stimulate interdisciplinary, genre-bending artistic projects. The label grew out of the founders’ own practices, which move between sound, movement, text, and visual art, and bring together composition and improvisation, meticulous research and intuition, structure and experimentation.

Work like this often slips through the cracks of existing cultural structures. Xilent Records was created to offer these projects a dedicated space: through physical releases and immersive live performances that foreground risk, encounter, and artistic experiment.

Xilent Records Presents: No Horns | I See people II | Which Diva

XILENT RECORDS PRESENTS // Feb 28

An evening of interdisciplinary experimental performances + immersive listening. Come enjoy the xilence.

⧫ I See People II ⧫
::: Maria Mavridou · T. Veneranta · Jonathan Nagel
::: ::: movement and electric bass
::: ::: raw vibrations of human connections

Flowers grow in the dark. Fed by longing, neglect, and touch withheld too long. Their petals are bitter treats. Love tastes like poison. Low. Lingering. Sweet. If it does not hurt, we’ll try harder.

Desire stays hidden, but never quiet. The body listens long before the mind understands. Sound thickens, becomes weight, becomes caress. We sink together, willingly, into heavy noise. And when everything else turns cold, we keep moving – relentless, soft, endless.

Raw vibrations of human connections are feeding this trio constellation, intertwining dance and electric bass.

NO HORNS are back!
Miram den Boer – Violin
Maya Felixbrot – Viola

Remnants and fragments. Discontinuous memories.
Conversations reduced to a single syllable.
Roles written for someone else.
Who is playing? Is it you?

Places we were, places we were not, places we dreamed.
Melodies fed from east, west, south, and north.

Improvised music rooted in diverse folk traditions — a subconscious stream of sounds, dreams, memories, and landscapes, like that moment right before waking. Their debut album (released June 2020) grew from free improvisations later shaped into compositions.

Which Diva is making her first appearance, trailing a surprise showing of BadBags (Lady Bag & BanShee) with her like a sack. Her sounds are a sharp collision of pleasurable pain and dreamlike mechanical scapes—music for those who find beauty in the cogs.
She felt cursed. She told herself it was just because her throat was dry. She told herself she couldn’t sing because she was too heartbroken to find the right key.
But that was a lie.
It was really because the night before, a fan had stolen her favorite shadow and hadn’t given it back.
Someone called her to say they were heartbroken, and she said: “So what? I’m transparent. I don't even cast a shadow anymore.”
She asked the moon for an encore and at last fell into a dreamless haze. We don’t know what she saw. Nobody in the charts or in the stars knows what to do with her.
