🎬 iHostage is now streaming on Netflix!

For iHostage, ReadySet Studios’ founding partner and production designer Florian Legters took on the challenge of recreating the Amsterdam Apple Store—one of the city’s most iconic yet inaccessible locations.

A significant portion of the full-scale set was constructed using repurposed and previously used elements, blending creative sustainability with high-end finish. This set was then enveloped by a 60-meter LED wall, displaying a scanned and digitally reconstructed Leidseplein in collaboration with Planet X Creative Visual Effects and ReadySet Studios.

The result: a seamless fusion of real and virtual, delivering a tense, cinematic experience now available on Netflix.

Big thanks to Horizon Film, Netflix Netherlands, and director Bobby Boermans for their trust and vision.

We’re proud to see the spotlight on this production and grateful for the exposure has given to our shared work on iHostage, set to premiere April 18. A fantastic example of what happens when creative and technical forces align; when our very own production designer (and RSS co-founder) teams up with the team from , the rest of the ReadySet Studios team (, Chris Licher, ), things truly come together.

Just 5 days until the global premiere of iHostage, the very first Dutch Netflix Original feature, streaming in over 180 countries!

Produced by Horizon Film and directed by Bobby Boermans, iHostage is inspired by the 2022 Apple Store hostage situation and marks the largest Virtual Production ever made in the Netherlands.

We brought it to life by combining striking production design by Florian Legters, cutting-edge virtual environments by Planet X, and real-time, in-camera LED technology.

We’re proud to have played a part in this groundbreaking production.

And just like that... we’re 3! 🥳🥳🥳

ReadySet Studios is celebrating its 3rd birthday today!

When we started on February 28, 2022, who could have guessed that three years later, we’d have met so many incredible filmmakers, welcomed Metallica and Eva Mendes to our studio, transformed it into an underground lab and multiple event spaces, played a key role in Netflix’s first Dutch original feature film, and helped more than 80 productions bring their creative visions to life?

We’re grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey—and we’re just getting started! 🎉

Revisit the shoot: Kovacs: 'Child of Sin' (with Till Lindemann)

The dramatic, painting-like backdrops with menacing lightning and thunderclouds, were created as virtual 3D environments and complement the photographic aesthetic of DOP Martijn van Broekhuizen and stylised production design by Jellier & Schaaf.
