In the first masterclass of this course leading up to tomorrow’s 7FM at Nachbar, we talked about how to contribute more to nightlife and what the focus of deejaying should be. A recurring point throughout the session was the importance of enjoying playing music, regardless of where you play.

All of the students shared their thoughts and experiences from their careers, and together we discussed different ways of approaching and addressing the challenges and situations they’ve had.

Next week we will be back again with our last 7fm night before going in to a summer break. For this last evening we have and who both started at the studio around 2 years ago. Now they’re both making ways in their career. Together they will provide us with the opening of the night so that the young friends .ruijter & ._roels can guide us in to the night with lots of rolling and energetic house music. For the last slot we have our dear friend .jonker Last time we had Jasper at 7Fm he played an incredible openings set which got us very excited to see him close one as well!

Next week Thursday, the last 7fm night at Nachbar before our summer break.

We believe that through mentorship, hands-on guidance, and direct connections to Amsterdam’s nightlife, the gap between upcoming deejays and rising stars can get smaller. Together we work with you on the parts that actually matter: your sound, your presence, your story. This program is free. The admission is selective and the goal is simple, to get you performing!

This Thursday 7FM is back at for our monthly night. For this one, we have 3 back 2 back sets. Love birds & will be kicking the night off, followed up by our own & bringing you back to the early tech. To top it all off we have the two wildflowers & closing off with deep and soulfull sounds!

In our first masterclass with Tonno Disko, prior to our 7FM night at Nachbar, we talked about supporting the scene, where your inspiration comes from, how to reflect on the qualities you already have as an artist, the ones you recognise in others and the characteristics you would like to develop further.

With 13 years of experience, he shared important learning moments and how to show up and move as an artist in the scene.

We don’t believe in copy-pasting. At Studio 7, you’ll be guided to learn how to teach yourself, dig deeper into music, and create an identity behind the decks that actually feels like you.

Beyond the technical side, we help you understand the culture and the industry itself. How to build a network, how to present yourself as an artist, how to find opportunities, and how to slowly turn passion into something sustainable. Through our community, events, and student nights, we create spaces where upcoming artists can meet, experiment, play, and grow together. Because becoming a DJ isn’t about following a fixed formula. It’s about learning how to keep evolving and contributing to the most beautiful industry there is.
