Last night, we celebrated an unforgettable evening as we inaugurated our new national executive council. The theme: “The SLPP: Preparing for the Sierra Leone We Are Becoming” powerfully reaffirms that the SLPP remains the unwavering moral compass of Sierra Leone.

There is only one SLPP agenda. As Leader, I set the political direction with passion. In 2028, we will proudly present the SLPP as the Party of continuity, the Party of stability, and the Party of national progress—clear, confident, and unstoppable.

This morning, I had the honour of accompanying my beloved husband, His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, for the official commissioning of the Gendema Bridge in Simbaru Chiefdom, Kenema District.

For the people of Simbaru, Wandor, and Gorama Mende Chiefdoms, this is a fulfilled promise one that will ease the movement of goods, improve access to healthcare, and enable our school children to reach their classrooms safely, even during the rainy season.

It will also significantly boost agricultural trade, allowing farmers to transport their produce to markets without the obstacles they once faced.

I am proud to witness yet another step forward in our national development journey, where no region is left behind.

Last night, as a proud daughter of Kono, I joined my sisters at the Eastern Region Women’s Network (ERWEN) fundraising dinner held at the Freetown International Conference Center.

The event was not only about feeding the body but also about fueling a movement that calls for action against gender-based violence and a step towards empowering women and girls.

On behalf of myself and my husband, I donated financial support towards ERWEN’s initiative to build a skills training center in Kono District, which will provide women and girls with opportunities to acquire skills and empower themselves.

I was humbled to receive a special recognition award for my contributions to women’s empowerment and I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to ERWEN members, strong women across Sierra Leone, and especially Madam Isatu J. Kabba, ERWEN’s President, for her tireless leadership.

I also thank my husband, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, for his commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment in Sierra Leone.
