A look behind the scenes of PULSE our documentary.

For the past 6 months, Mark and I have been following Arjan Ellens to show what life as a pro BMX rider actually looks like. Not just the big tricks, but the training, the long days and everything in between.

And this Saturday, we’re having our first screening at BMX Amsterdam House of Sports during the Red Bull Rampage Watch Party & Jam Session.

It wasn’t originally planned as the big premiere, but we’re incredibly excited to finally show PULSE to an audience.

PULSE — a documentary about the life of Arjan Ellens.

This year I wanted to focus more on long-form content and storytelling. That’s why I decided to make two documentaries to improve my storytelling skills.

I’ve learned so much along the way, but I definitely underestimated how much time these projects would take haha.

The first one is almost done though, like 95%. Can’t wait to finally share it!

Grading Dji Osmo Pocket footage in Davinci Resolve.

We shot a spec commercial in South Africa 2 years ago. I just went through the footage again and made a new edit from the hiking part.

I still remember how happy Lyanne and I were after shooting this, one of the 4 scenes.

I knew back then that I wanted to make more videos from the footage besides the main spec commercial, but here we are 2 years later haha.

The footage from the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can be difficult to grade. I finally cracked the code🎨

New YouTube video is online 🎥

This year I started making documentaries to get better at storytelling.

In this video I break down the storytelling formula I use in my projects, using real footage from a BMX documentary I’ve been working on.

The documentary is almost finished and coming soon.

I think this structure can be useful for pretty much any type of video, whether it’s commercial work, YouTube or your own projects.

Watch it on YouTube. Link in bio.
