Audio is almost as important as video. People forget that.

I’ve been composing music for a while now, and lately doing more of it for commercial work. What I keep coming back to is how much a soundtrack can change the feel of a film, not just adding music on top, but actually shaping it. Sound design, reworking a song’s structure, sometimes writing something from scratch.

Tip: next time you’re editing, try muting your visuals and just listen to the audio on its own. If it holds attention without the picture, your edit is going to hit twice as hard once you put them back together.
