Very disturbing to see the footage of the Swiss pub dissaster. One frame caught my eye and should warn people who treat acoustic spaces: test all your acoustic material for flammability. As far I can tell someone (not a professional) used very popular ‘acoustic’ foam on the whole ceiling, which contrary to popular believe does almost nothing for acoustics, this version seemed to be highly flammable.

New toy! Yes singular, the more vintage 6386 is replaced by the more modern ES-8. One of Bob Katz favorite machines and it is a truly Swiss army knife. Was looking for one for a longggggg time.

Restuffing vintage mics from my mic locker. Here is my favorite kick mic, the illustrious Beyerdynamic M380.

Every time I solo its channel it puts a smile on my face. But the foam is deteriorating after 40 years. Luckily Beau had some foam left after restuffing his M380, thx Beau!

Like Steve Albini I use it inside the kick where it shines, no eq needed, why some ppl put it out on front I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♂️

This cheap OLP Stingray clone replaced my original Music Man Stingray and it plays like butter but sound wise it has difficulties holding up its appearance. I wonder where the huge difference in tone comes from. Wood, finish, preamp, pickup, neck joint, etc of course, let’s test the easiest parameter first.

Testing 3 pickups this evening, it had its original pickup replaced by a Nordstrand MM4.4 earlier (interesting tone), now undergoing surgery for the final pickup: an original vintage 90s Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray pickup. Exciting!
