With the ‘Orientalis EP’, Bart Blankman takes listeners on a sonic journey that explores the boundaries between East and West, tradition and modernity. The three-part release showcases the versatility of the title track through two unique reinterpretations.
The original ‘Orientalis’ forms the beating heart of this EP. Blankman has created a fascinating paradox here: despite the deliberate, low BPM, an urgent, almost hypnotic rhythmic feel emerges that immediately captivates the listener. The oriental influences are subtly yet powerfully woven into the composition, with traditional melodic elements seamlessly merging with modern production techniques.
