South Africa is a special place to me. Obviously a place with such a fresh history of the apartheid system but also a place with a lot of beauty to it. The people, nature, history of musicians. It’s incredible and i feel blessed to play here yearly. Thank you for the cool events once again ✊🏽🤎

That was special. 12hrs was a challenge mentally and physically but this beautiful energy on the dancefloor kept me going with ease. unforgettable vibes, thank you all for being there. There were many great events in the city which makes it even more surreal there was a full house from start to finish. I would never take that for granted.

Six days until my favourite and most special show of the year. BUSI WAKA NANGA DANSI, 12 hours long which will be my longest set until now. At .amsterdam where the soundsystem can align with the physicality i will try to push.

A little background story. In my basketball career i have made some decisions based on what ‘trustful’ others told me. Just trusted them for their words as i thought they knew what would be best for me. This cost me drastic changes in my career which i had to fight back from, to redeem myself to the level i was suppose to be at. From that point on i promised myself i would never make any decisions anymore based on what others say and follow my own instinct and feeling before making decisions.

With having a platform and being vocal about what i stand for as a human being is not something i am looking to be praised for, never have and never will. For sure i knew i would receive hate for it but what i’ve learned over these past years is that you’re never doing good enough for the people that supposely share the same views. You must cancel this, you must cancel that. Follow these rules, follow those rules otherwise you’re not valid if you do otherwise. It’s honestly a very unhealthy environment where people are constantly pulling on you.
I have been cancelled, said no to shows, received death threats. Never came online with it because it were decisions i’ve made for myself and did not need any sympathy for it. I respect all who are doing what they can and show courage by putting themselves in a position where they might lose something. Wether it’s fans, shows or whatever, you all gave a piece of yourself.

For my own mental health and the sake of my family i am more silently continueing the work that needs to be done, review where to play where not to play based on my own opinion. Last years has been quite stressful on this political matter and affecting me in negative ways which i will no longer accept to effect me in this way.

Unite do not divide. Help each other with info that you might have. Do not judge someone directly if someone does not have the information you might have. Give space to let the other person educate themselves about the matter and make a decision of their own. This world is already a complete mess, the last thing we need is people fighting for the same cause, fighting with each other…

My deepest gratitude for these two shows this past weekend. To have played and organized the line up for one of the best clubs in the world in Bassiani was a dream come true for us.

Then when the weekend could not get better it actually did. From doing the soundcheck standing in the middle of the Berghain floor imaginating the moments after, doing a shot (applejuice) at the bar with the staff, into starting my set where the game of improvisation is needed from the very start was honestly one of the most special moments of my career. Emotionally touched by the beauty of this and i thank you all for being a part of that moment with me.✊🏽🤎
