Y.O.P.E. UNDER THE TRACKS — for n°16, we welcomed Y.O.P.E., a music experiment initiated by bassist Joop de Graaf.
Y.O.P.E. performs in various formations, ranging from a trio to a nine-piece ensemble and for this edition, Joop, performing on the bass and electronics, was joined by Sam Nera on the vocals and synths and Miguel Valente on the sax and effects.
The audience was treated to a performance that, in Joop’s own words, “pushes boundaries of live music, wrapped in a blanket of modern sounds.” It was a mesmerising and immersive evening that brought everyone into Y.O.P.E.’s world.
Y.O.P.E.’s newest release, Music for Dogs, is an ode to all the dogs in the world. Dogs are the ever-faithful four-legged friends who value unconditional love above all else.
Let this be the first inspiration to make music and maintain hope in precarious times. “Because”, according to Joop, “if everyone had a dog by their side, there would be a lot more love in the world.” ❤️
