LEADERS OF UNITES NO. 122 // SAMUEL YEMANE

Samuel grew up in Assen with Dutch and Eritrean roots, where basketball quickly became part of daily life thanks to his older brother and sister. From the moment he could walk, the court felt like home.

It was the 3X3 Leader Course that sparked his passion for coaching. Learning how to engage and motivate kids, he realized the joy of helping others grow. Since then, Samuel has coached Celeritas U19, worked with talented players at RTC North, and kept playing himself.

What started as a love for the game has become a future in guiding the next generation.

LEADERS OF UNITES NO. 121 // LOÏS SINNIGE

From growing up in a small village to finding her passion in basketball, Loïs has always loved helping others grow. After years of playing, she decided to focus fully on coaching — guiding everyone from four-year-olds at Junior Basketball Groningen to men’s teams at De Groene Uilen.

Through the 3X3 Leader Course, she sharpened her skills in building confidence, creating fun drills, and leading groups with impact. As the only woman in her course, Loïs is now researching how to get more girls involved — and already co-hosts a weekly girls’ club in Groningen to empower young women.

On the court, in the classroom, or through 3X3 Unites, Loïs is all about making sure young people feel seen, supported, and ready to shine.

LEADERS OF UNITES NO. 120 // NATHANAEL CATS

Meet Nathanael! Born in Amsterdam and raised in Haarlem, faith, family, and music have always been his foundation. Two seasons ago, he discovered 3X3 Unites — the perfect way to mix his love for basketball with guiding and inspiring young people.

Since completing the 3X3 Leader Course, Nathanael has been building bridges on the court, helping Haarlem’s 3x3 community grow stronger every week. Whether it’s designing new drills, bringing smiles to kids’ faces, or studying Industrial Design Engineering in The Hague, he brings the same patience, creativity, and positivity everywhere he goes.

Nathanael’s journey is all about community, leadership, and playing with purpose!

Last weekend, young people from Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Bielefeld came together in the Paper Dome and 3X3 Unites HQ for the Urban Sports Challenge. For four days, they worked on ideas to improve their public spaces and pitched them to a jury.

From brainstorming to new friendships, from international collaboration to the courage to take the stage: our youth showed what happens when their voices are truly heard.

This is just the beginning of their year-long journey

Meet Raf, the 22-year-old Amsterdam-born hoop enthusiast whose journey took him from a quiet village in Drenthe to coaching on community courts in Groningen.

After tearing his ACL in the 3X3 Pro League, Raf didn’t just bounce back he took charge. From hosting clinics after completing the 3X3 Leaders Course to mentoring youth through basketball with a smile, his story is one of resilience, leadership, and pure passion.

Last weekend, we saw something special unfold here in Amsterdam-Noord. Small 3x3 Summer Camp growing into a powerhouse of teamwork, skills, and endless good vibes. ✨

Our incredible 3X3 Leaders brought the energy and knowledge guiding the youth on and off the court. We watched new friendships form, skills sharpen, and confidence grow with every pass and shot. It’s more than just basketball—it’s about empowering the next generation to be leaders in their neighborhood. 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, the court has always been a place to grow together, and this summer, you proved it. 🙌
