After 20 years, it’s time for change.
Yes, it’s true: Michiel Marsman and Sander Van Maarschalkerweerd have been building Sizzer together for two decades. And what a beautiful company they’ve built! 20 years full of laughter, learning, experimenting, winning, losing, and trying again. And now, it’s time for something new.
For Michiel, that means stepping away from Sizzer to fully focus on composing. That’s where his heart lies, from his passion for film to advertising. No more management, no more spreadsheets.. just making music. And that suits him perfectly.
For Sander and Sizzer, it means shaking up the company a little. New energy, new opportunities. We’re in the middle of some incredible projects, winning sonic branding pitches, and actively developing our role as a strategic partner for brands. It’s exciting and exactly what Sander is ready for.
This opens up opportunities for the team. There’s excitement, there’s movement, there’s room to grow. And it feels like the right time.
Is this the end of 20 years together? We’ll definitely keep working together. Our shared catalog, the music we’ve produced over the past 20 years, will remain ours together. And for the right projects, we’ll continue to team up.
So no goodbyes.. but but an enormous thank you for the past 20 years and a “see you soon, in a new way.”
