Another one for the books!

"Last Thursday marked the 12th STOOR Live at Paradiso. After taking the format to Sónar and FuturFestival this season, it felt good to be back at our home base.

We brought those recent experiences back with us, using them to rethink details, try new ideas and shake off some routines.
STOOR is a canvas for everyone involved, and this group is an incredibly deep source of ideas. We’ve only scratched the surface of what this collective can do.

So for this edition, we put ourselves on the line again and threw ourselves into the deep end. Just press start and trust the process. Everything on intuition; that’s where the creativity lives.

The constellation of musicians and visual artists this time was a perfect match. A beautiful conversation, with everyone speaking equally, bringing ideas from every side of the table while leaving enough space for each of them to bloom.

Thank you to all the makers, and everyone who contributed to this special gathering!"

This Thursday will be the 12th edition of STOOR Live in Paradiso! It will also be our first collaboration with Dekmantel who happen to be hosting the 12th edition of their festival. ✊🏻

Here's one of the many moments we've had over the years. This clip is from our collab with Circle of Live which included Barker who will be with us again tomorrow. We can't wait!

Less than a week until the monolith rises again in Paradiso!

Next Thursday, 30 July, we’ll reassemble the spaceship for another seven-hour marathon session, fully improvised from start to finish.

New this time: the second area moves downstairs to the Basement, where SnPLO will take centre stage for a fully improvised set of their own.

Speedy J - Pedestrian Sketches / Double cassette + digital / STOOR

Walkman was one route through hundreds of recordings. Pedestrian Sketches navigates others.

"During the period Walkman came together, I recorded hundreds of pieces; everything from a one-take synth jam to tracks that were mixed and pretty much finished.

The selecting happened outside the studio; for weeks I walked and ran with all of it in my ears. Twenty tracks were shaped for that sequence. But there was much more that could just as well have been on it, I simply didn’t need it to tell that story. I didn’t want all of that lying around on my drives, taking up space in the back of my head. Giving it a place closes the chapter.

Sjoerd Oberman was in the process the whole way; we traded playlists at every stage. He talked me out of things I was too attached to cut, and back into things I'd already written off, hearing them through his ears gave them a new place. Without him, Walkman would have been a different record.

So I asked Sjoerd Oberman to make the mixes. He picked his own favourites and turned them into four sides of roughly thirty minutes each.

Four walks through the same landscape as Walkman, different routes."

Grazie mille Kappa FuturFestival! Cheers to all the party people at the LAB stage who were totally on board with the experimental, the full on techno and everything in between. And of course thank you to all the artists and crew this weekend.

Looking forward to doing this again at FuturFestival Mexico in Monterrey with JakoJako and Mathew Jonson!

This STOOR Live session was raw and rough in the best possible way. Perfect for a Saturday.

We just finished the soundcheck with Dasha Rush, Rødhåd and Speedy J for the last jam at the LAB stage. Time for a big finale Futur!
