27.10.2025 Specialist Training of Military Police Officers
The Serbian Armed Forces’ military police officers and NCOs, who attend various levels of professional training in order to perform MP tasks and missions, conducted joint tactical drills at the “Rastko Nemanjić” Barracks in Pančevo.
During the three-day activities on a training ground at the Pančevo Barracks, officers and NCOs had the opportunity to put into action the previously acquired theoretical knowledge of the military police tactics.
The focus was on the tactical use of newly acquired assets while providing security for VIP persons, controlling military road traffic and conducting a raid on a seized facility. Various vehicles used in MP units, modern fi****ms and MP equipment, motorcycles, drones and military working dogs were used.
One of the NCOs training to work with the military police says that, during the drills, the military policemen went through all the roles in a squad / group.
— The most interesting part of tactical drills for me personally was the counter-terrorist fight in an urban environment. This task includes a wide range of measures, actions and procedures, requiring absolute team cohesion, infallibility in handling the weapons and continuous communication. Everything happens in a relatively small space, in a short time, requiring quick decision-making, and the mistakes are not forgiven — this NCO said.
Head of the MP Directorate, Major General Milan Lazić, and Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan visited the military policemen who were undergoing training at the “Rastko Nemanjić” Barracks, where they could see in person that the participants are highly motivated, and that they reached an enviable level of specialist competence through hard work and expert guidance by their instructors.
The military police is intended to perform police assignments in the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces. It is equipped with modern assets and weapons of domestic and foreign production, which, along with persistent training, ensures the required ability to implement effectively the jobs and tasks stipulated by law and other regulations and ordered by commanders in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
