You don't have to wait to see someone’s misfortune before thanking God for your life.

Not every trend needs your participation.
Not every conversation needs your input. Sometimes be quiet , observe , read comments and scroll .

I feel like I'm nearing the point where I've said everything I need to say. As topics get rehashed I'm just like... "Oh I covered this in 2017."

The early-30s transition from active social media user to silent lurker is so real.🥱

Be kind to people.Nobody enjoys struggling. Poverty is not a character flaw, and hard times are not always a choice. If you can help, help. If you cannot, at least do not mock the struggles.
Happy Sunday ❤️🤭

Why Do We Feel Guilty When We Rest?

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how difficult it has become to truly rest without feeling guilty.

It feels like we’ve reached a point where productivity has become the standard by which many people measure their worth.

If you’re working, you’re being productive.

If you’re studying, you’re being productive.

If you’re building a business, posting content, networking, or learning a new skill, you’re being productive.

But the moment you decide to take a break, you suddenly feel like you’re wasting time.

Why?

Who convinced us that every hour of our day has to be productive?

Who made us believe that resting means we’re falling behind?

I think social media has played a huge role in this.

Every time we open an app, someone is posting about waking up at 5 a.m., working twelve-hour days, reading fifty books a year, building multiple businesses, creating content every day, going to the gym, and somehow still having time for everything else.

After seeing enough of that content, it’s easy to start believing that resting is something successful people don’t do.

But that’s simply not true.

The people we admire are human too.

They get tired.

They take breaks.

They experience burnout.

They have days where they don’t feel motivated.

The difference is that we rarely see those moments.

Instead, we’re constantly consuming content that celebrates being busy.

Somewhere along the way, being busy became a badge of honour.

People say they’re “so busy” almost as a way of proving they’re working hard.

But being busy isn’t always the same as making meaningful progress.

I’ve also realised that many people aren’t actually resting when they say they’re resting.

They’re sitting on the sofa feeling guilty.

They’re watching television while thinking about work.

They’re on holiday checking emails.

They’re spending time with family while worrying about deadlines.

That’s not real rest.

Real rest allows your mind and body to recover.

It gives you the energy to return with more clarity and focus.

Without it, everything eventually starts to feel overwhelming.

I’ve learned that consistency doesn’t mean pushing yourself until you’re exhausted.

It means creating a pace that allows you to keep showing up over the long term.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do isn’t creating another piece of content, answering another email, or working another hour.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is sleep.

Go for a walk.

Read a book.

Spend time with people you love.

Take a day off.

Do something that reminds you that your value isn’t measured by how busy you are.

Success shouldn’t cost you your health.

Ambition shouldn’t cost you your peace.

And rest shouldn’t be something you feel guilty about.

Maybe it’s time we stopped treating rest as something we have to earn and started seeing it as something we genuinely need.

Because the goal isn’t just to build a successful career or business.

The goal is to build a life that’s sustainable enough to enjoy when you get there.
