BIOGERONTOLOGY shares the sad news of the death of the "father" of modern biogerontology LEONARD HAYFLICK, who was also the inspiration behind the birth, growth and development of this journal. Biogerontology will not be there where it is now without the "Hayflick Phenomenon" and the "Hayflick Limit".
He lived for 96 years and 3 months!!

A very special issue of BIOGERONTOLOGY, in memory of Alexey Olovnikov - the originator of the theory of telomeres in ageing and longevity - has now been published, compiled and guest-edited by Ivan Olovnikov. There are several amazing review and research papers in this issue on an important issue in ageing research.
