New-to-me author!

Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross is officially my next read!

I haven’t read anything by Rebecca Ross before, but someone recommended this one to me, and I’m always here for a trusted book recommendation. Thanks Hannah Ayroso pamangkin for this.

I’m going in completely new to her writing, so I’m really curious to see what I think. The beautiful cover definitely caught my attention, but now I want to see if the story lives up to all the love Rebecca Ross gets from readers.

A new author, a new world, and hopefully a new favorite.

Currently reading: Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

Okay… this book is NOT what I expected. What if this too happens?

I’d never heard of it before, but the premise immediately caught my attention, and now that I’m reading it, I can already tell this is going to be one of those books that makes me uncomfortable and makes me think.

It’s disturbing, unsettling, and completely unlike anything I’ve read before. And somehow, that’s exactly what makes it so hard to put down.

Why should you read it?
🩸 It challenges what we consider “normal.”
🧠 It raises some seriously uncomfortable questions about humanity, ethics, and society.
📖 It’s short, but there’s A LOT to unpack.
😳 And if you’re looking for something completely outside your usual reading comfort zone… this is definitely it.

I’m still reading, so I’m not giving away any thoughts beyond that but I already understand why this book gets people talking.

Finally got my hands on The Will of the Many by James Islington!

This one has been sitting on my TBR for a while, and I’ve been planning to read it for ages. Now I finally have the physical copy, so there’s really no excuse anymore.

I’ve heard so many good things about this book, epic fantasy, political intrigue, power struggles, secrets, and a story that apparently keeps you guessing.

I haven’t started it yet, but I’m officially ready to see what all the hype is about.

TBR → physical copy → now it’s time to actually read it.

🐉 Next up: The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker 🌙📖

I’ve been waiting for this one! I already read When the Moon Hatched and absolutely loved getting lost in that world, so before I start this book, I’m planning a reread of the first one.

I want to refresh my memory, revisit the characters, and pick up on all those little details I probably missed the first time around before jumping into the next chapter.

Same world. New adventure. More dragons.

I have a feeling this reread is going to hit differently knowing what’s waiting ahead…

Next up: Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, and it’s finally time to pick it up.

An AI companion, questions about love and humanity, and a story that explores what it really means to be alive? I’m definitely intrigued.

I’m going in knowing very little and hoping to let the story unfold on its own. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those books that leaves me thinking about it long after I finish.

Currently reading Taipei Story by R.F. Kuang 📖🌿

There’s something about starting a new R.F. Kuang book when you know you’re probably in for a story that will make you think, question things, and possibly emotionally wreck you a little. 😅

I’m still early in this one, so no thoughts or theories just yet but I’m already intrigued by the atmosphere and the world Kuang is creating. 👀

For now, it’s just me, my Kobo, way too many plants, and a new book I’m excited to get lost in. 🌱📚

Finished this one and I’m still trying to process it.

A Short Stay in Hell is what happens when Borges’ infinite library collides with a Mormon dad’s afterlife crisis. Soren dies, discovers Zoroastrianism was apparently the correct religion all along, and gets sent to a hell shaped like a library bigger than the universe. 😵‍💫📖

Dark, funny, deeply existential, and somehow a book you can finish in an afternoon. It’s the kind of story that starts with a wild premise and ends with you staring at the wall questioning literally everything.

Published 17 years ago and now having a full BookTok renaissance… and honestly, I get it. 🔥

If you like strange, thought-provoking, slightly horrifying books that stick with you long after the last page, put this one on your list.

Currently reading Destiny’s Edge by M.L. Wang ⚔️📖

I came across this one after discovering that the author offers the ebook for free on her website and obviously I had to grab it. 👀✨

I’m still early into the story, but I’m already intrigued. Fantasy, high stakes, complicated choices, and that feeling that something much bigger is waiting just around the corner…

I love discovering books this way, stumbling across an author, finding out there’s a free ebook available, and going in with zero expectations. Sometimes those end up being the most memorable reads.

Now let’s see where this one takes me…
