Brabantsedag revealed the next theme for their theatrical parade: “Dichterbij Brabant”. Impossible wordplay to translate in English, but it combines ‘poetry’ with ‘closer to Brabant’. We are excited to once again have created the visual identity, and especially proud of this illustration in the spirit of this year's poetic theme. Very happy with the enthusiastic reactions to our Brabantsedag poster this past edition, we very often heard how well it captured the theatrical parade’s feeling for people.

Very happy to have the various memorabilia pictured here as a memory.

Very happy to be working on the poster of the 65th edition right now. It’s gonna be a very different kind of visual, but I hope it once again captures a certain BrabantseDag feeling.

Also very happy of course Gerrie Bukkems let us lend his face.

Sunday this Big Banger by Wagenbouwersgroep - Vriendenkring De Rijten will hit the road. We're excited to bring this enormous story, but most of all a celebration of creation, to life with our 100+ members. They did a beautiful job building this float, as you will be able to see it during Brabantsedag, the biggest theatre parade of The Netherlands.

Illustration for this year's Brabantsedag poster. After being involved with this parade festival for many years, we were thrilled and honored to be asked to create it's visual identity for the 64th edition around the theme 'Eureka!'!

Eureka! Yesterday we revealed the poster we illustrated for the 64th Brabantsedag.

The visual is a tribute to creativity. To the energy released at the Eureka moment of the creative process where every piece falls into place, the ideas keep flowing and you can’t wait to materialize them. But also to the float builders creating in the various departments – from design to construction, from acting to wardrobe and from makeup to prop building – to get this theatrical parade on the road.

We can’t wait to see all that creativity in Heeze this summer, but for now you can take a closer look at the poster over at Brabantsedag:

These are some of my favorite kind of shots to come up with. They set an atmosphere, but then invite the viewer’s imagination to fill in the complete story. In this case, (hopefully) the happy & weird vast landscape evokes questions like: "what impossibly big, possibly abominable creatures built these giant snowmen?" and makes the viewer’s mind wander off into their own imaginative answers. -Matty

Happy new year, everybody! Our resolution for 2023 is to just keep doing what we’ve loved doing in the past years: create unique stories and visuals through animation and illustration.
