2023 ILCA U21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS,Stavanger,Norway
Race

Day 4
With no wind, participants used the opportunity to unwind by engaging in various activities like sports and card games at the club while awaiting announcements from the Race Committee (RC). However, the wind conditions never exceeded a mere 2 knots within the designated racing area. Consequently, at 15:00, the RC made the decision to hoist the AP flag over the Alpha flag, officially concluding the day’s proceedings.
This outcome means that the standings remain unchanged from the previous day. Sailors can now look forward to more races scheduled for both tomorrow and Sunday, hopeful for better wind conditions to facilitate the competition.

The ILCA 7 sailing competition is being divided now into Gold and Silver fleets. You’ll have the opportunity to track the progress of both the Gold ILCA 7 and ILCA 6 championships through online GPS tracking here:

Race Day 3

Day 3. The forecast was rain in the morning until about 9:00 am with a wind force of 10-12 knots. The last one came out but the rain kept surprising us. Only after 12:00 the rain stopped and the sun sometimes showed his face.
Three races were scheduled and all three could be sailed. Two games are scheduled for tomorrow. The weather forecast of the different weather stations for tomorrow are very different so that remains to be seen.

Race Day 2

Today was the first sailing day because yesterday everything was cancelled due to too much wind.
The first race was started with 20-25 knots of wind in the beginning, later the wind decreased to 16 knots but still with outliers to 25 knots of wind during the rain showers. Three race were taken to make it up for the missed races from yesterday. Three more races are scheduled for tomorrow.

Provided below are the initial provisional results, pending the Jury’s determinations.

AP over Alpha was raised early in the morning due to 50 knots of wind in the racing area.
Situation in the harbour is under control but it’s wild out there so we are happy about the decision made by the RC.
Forecast announces fairly similar conditions for tomorrow 🌧️🥶although a little bit lighter winds. Let’s say 18-28 knots 😬🤞

2023 ILCA U21 Europeans & Open European Trophy

Today is the first day of the 2023 ILCA U21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS.

155 ILCA 7 sailors and 75 ILCA 6 from 36 nations will compete for championship in ILCA 7 and in ILCA 6 in the coming week.
The weather forecast is uncertain for the coming days and depends on which weather station you consult. Today it is cloudy, but the rain is expected with an increasing wind force. For tomorrow, values from 4 to 5 are indicated with outliers to 6.
The temperature is also not high there 15 -16 degrees. Later in the week the wind will decrease but rain will remain.

Race Day 6 – 2023 ILCA 6 Youth Europeans

The day started with a small sun but almost no wind. The sun disappeared and rain took its place. The wind was under 3 knots and if there was any more wind it came from all sides. No basis for a racing. A postponement of two hours was announced followed by a postponement indefinitely which ultimately resulted in no more races because the last race was not allowed to start after 16:00.
Last day of the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy regattas in Gdynia, Poland.

Race Day 5 – 2023 ILCA 6 Youth Europeans
The penultimate day of the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy regattas concluded today in Gdynia, Poland.

The sailors and the Race Committee faced considerable challenges on the water due to the highly unstable weather conditions. Throughout the day, they encountered a mix of rain and sun, along with unpredictable fluctuations in wind strength and direction. These constantly shifting elements led to the abandonment of numerous races and several APs (postponements). It proved to be a very long and demanding day for all involved in racing.
With 3 new races completed by most of the fleets (Boys’ Silver had 2 and Boys’ Bronze only 1), the following are the new provisional results before Jury’s decisions.

Race Day 4 – 2023 ILCA 6 Youth Europeans

The Final series started today at the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Gdynia, Poland.
With winds ranging from 10 to 16 knots and medium waves, the sailing conditions have been perfect, bringing delight to the 381 competing sailors. Originally, the plan was to conduct three races per fleet, taking advantage of these fantastic conditions. However, a sudden rainstorm interrupted the proceedings, leading to the organizers directing all the sailors back to the harbor with two new races for the fleets in Charlie’s course (Boy’s Gold, Silver and Bronze) and only one new race for the rest of the fleets in Bravo’s area (Girl’s Gold and Silver and Boy’s Emerald).
The following are the provisional Top 3 before Jury’s decisions;

Race Day 3 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Gdynia, Poland.

Today marked the conclusion of the Qualifying series at the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Gdynia, Poland. The day began bright and early with the first warning signal at 08:30.
The sailing conditions presented some challenges as the wind fluctuated and shifted throughout the day, never reaching higher than 9-10 knots. Unfortunately, a few races had to be abandoned in the morning due to these conditions. However, luck was on our side as the RC and sailors eventually managed to complete one new race per fleet before returning to shore.
With the Qualifying series now behind them, both the Girls’ and Boys’ championships progress to the Final series, with five races on scores.

Race Day 2 – 2023 ILCA 6 Youth Europeans
We experienced exceptional sailing conditions on the second day of races at the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Gdynia, Poland. The weather was perfect for sailing, reminiscent of champagne conditions, offering sailors an ideal and delightful experience on the water. Eastern wind varying from 10 to 15 knots and the following are the results after 4 races;
