Zo’n zes weken geleden kreeg ik een bijzonder verzoek: of ik als host De Dienst voor (on)gelovigen wilde presenteren.

De Dienst is een theatershow, ontstaan als reactie op leeglopende kerken. Het biedt een plek voor bezinning en samenkomst in het theater, waar we reflecteren op de grote vragen van ons bestaan. Voor mij, als vaste bezoeker van Concordia, voelde dit verzoek als een enorme eer. In die zaal heb ik zoveel herinneringen gemaakt: van het bewonderen van shows van bevriende makers tot het kijken van de mooiste arthousefilms.

Ik zei ja, en toen begon het avontuur. Samen met een geweldig team van muzikanten en sprekers creëerden we in korte tijd een show rondom het thema stilte en introversie om de winter in te luiden. Het werd een avond vol persoonlijke verhalen, prachtige muziek, en talks over insight dialogue, een manier om in dialoog met een ander te mediteren en het belang van community.

Het resultaat? Magisch én emotioneel… Want deze Dienst was de allerlaatste theaterproductie in Concordia ooit. Vanaf volgend jaar stopt Concordia met het theaterprogramma, en dat maakte deze avond extra bijzonder. Dankzij hebben we gelukkig de beelden nog

Last show of the year is loading…

Currently working on a project that has me balancing between: Why did I say yes to this? and This is going to be amazing!

I’m producing a theater show and… I’ll be hosting it myself!

For one night only, I’m trading the DJ booth for a microphone and stepping onto the stage as a host on Saturday, December 21st.

I have the honor of hosting the final-ever edition of the Service for (Non)Believers, a theater show at Concordia Enschede. This event was created as a response to the decline in church attendance and offers a moment of connection and reflection.

For this edition, I’ve been invited to share my take on the theme of winter. For me, winter represents stillness and slowing down. During the show, I’ll share personal stories about how these themes have shaped my life and work – from embracing my introverted nature to my journey as a DJ and cultural connector.

Joining me for this event is an incredible lineup of musicians and speakers. UEVO, a talented lo-fi one-man band, will perform alongside Cézanne, a singer whose voice perfectly captures the mood of introspection. We’ll also hear inspiring talks from mindfulness coach Gill Bollegraf and community leader Simone Dekker, offering fresh perspectives on finding balance and connection in today’s fast-paced world.

It’s already Sunday, but I’m still recovering from ADE. Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of playing at Melkweg for Curated by The North Quarter. TNQ nights always feel very special to play. I mean, all of my favorite DJs and vocalists in the intimate Upstairs room at Melkweg, surrounded by people who truly appreciate soulful DnB—priceless!

I’ve respected The North Quarter for years, and being part of these label nights, even just once in a while, is a gift that keeps on giving. Grateful for these memories and for sharing them with such an amazing crew.

It’s that time of year again… ADE!

I’ll be roaming around Amsterdam the next few days, kicking it off with the opening concert by Miguel Atwood Ferguson and the Metropole Orkest in Melkweg as they pay tribute to J Dilla. I’ve been waiting over 10 years for this one, and honestly, I know I’m going to cry through the entire show.

Then, not even 24 hours later, I’ll be up on stage at Melkweg playing for label night at Curated by—the best soulful DnB night ADE has to offer. The lineup? Insane. The kind I’d usually fly to London for, and now I’m part of it alongside all these amazing and inspiring TNQ artists. Hope to see you on the dancefloor. There’s only a few tickets left!

The rest of the time, you’ll find me hanging at talks—mainly on archiving and hip-hop culture—checking out a few expos, and if I’ve still got the energy tonight, I might be skanking it out with Skream & Benga at Oi 👀

From a young age, I’ve always had the urge to document culture. Whether through blogs, where I reflected on my experiences, shared inspirations, or posted event photos, there was always this pull. While I’ve never felt fully comfortable as a writer or public storyteller, the need to capture and preserve these moments (often as a photoographer) has always been undeniable.

With that passion in mind, I’m excited to relaunch a project that’s very close to my heart: Air Waves. Originally launched in 2020 on ITMOTR radio, this podcast was created to celebrate the stories of Enschede’s local tastemakers, with the goal of preserving our shared history and taking pride in what we’ve built.

Today marks the start of Air Waves Season 2, and I’m thrilled to kick it off with a legend who paved the way for many of us: . Together, we’ll dive into his early days in hip-hop, exploring a journey with iconic crews like AF, Graveyard Posse, and Ultimate Alliance—crews that laid a foundation for the musical legacy of Enschede.

P.S. Today is an extra special day for me, as it’s been exactly 11 years since I first launched Waves, the party series that ran in Atak/Metropool from 2013 to 2019.

Spent the summer on a solo trip through Italy…

First stop: Bologna. The food? Next-level. Already plotting my return!

Then it was off to Genova. Honestly, the city’s a bit grimey, but the coastal villages? Unreal. Spent my days swimming in cute bays, eating pesto, and soaking up the vibes.

Next up: Tuscany and the tourist chaos at Pisa’s Leaning Tower. More swimming, more pasta, more sun—before heading back to Bologna and flying home.

The solo time in Italy was the perfect recharge. Been missing swimming in the sea ever since…

From 2023 on I decided to donate a part of my DJ fees into Aslice. Why? To strive for a fairer ecosystem for the producers in our community...

"After stumbling upon Aslice due to my fellow DJ friends, I listened to a few talks and decided from 2023 on; I want to donate a part of my fee with producers. As a DJ, my gigs are within the dubstep, drum & bass, beats, and jungle realm. A lot of the music I play will never be released. That means many producers from these cultures will hardly earn a penny. What I love about Aslice is that even though I can’t support them by buying their music, I can still value it by giving back via Aslice to the people who created it. I’ve also noted on all my DJ invoices that I’ll share 5% of my gig fee. This way, I hope promoters also get to see and know about the service."

📻 Mijn Reis van Radio naar Londense Rave...

Wat begon als een solitaire DJ-poging tijdens de pandemie, bloeide uit tot bijna 50 radioshows in lockdown. Yes, radio legde de basis voor iets heel onvergetelijks: een DJ gig in het hart van UK Bass, Londen.
