Today we arrived at the Hiroshima bombsight were we made a shooting at the impressive memorial place. The nucliar bombings killed within the first two to four months 90,000 - 166,000 people in Hiroshima alone.

60% died from flash or flame burns, 30% from falling debris and 10% from other causes. During the following months, large numbers died from the effect of burns, radiation sickness.

after seeing this, one thing is sure: Nucliar war makes no sense!

Tonight our documentary on Detroit is shown in Filmhuis De Spiegel at Schunck in Heerlen, the Netherlands. The film explores the lessons that can be learned from a city like Detroit. 6 creative entrepreneurs from Limburg look at initiatives and best practices and try to translate these impressions and ideas to the local context of Limburg.

Also shown is “After The Factory” by DetroitLives! Director Philip Lauri whom we have met during our trip to the Rustbelt was making a documentary that mirrored the loss of industry in Detroit and the Polish City of Lodz.
