"Vaporwave and fashwave both play in the ruins of modern consumerism. And both genres force us to consider how much we have lost so quickly." Fashwave is an interesting phenomenon but both fashwave and vaporwave are framed here in the wrong way (from a modernistic point of view, while it is much more accelerationist). Waporwave is definitely post-political: not left or right. Fashwave, of course, is. It is the old fashioned modernistic politicized misuse of vaporwave.
