Last year I saw the Pet Shop Boys perform in Amsterdam. Great show and a nostalgic tour back through time.
A song I really would've likd to hear was Minimal from the 2066 album Fundamental. (which is a really good album, give it a try).

This song has a driving disco beat and some cool vocals, with a nice synth in the background. The song's produced by Trevor Horn (Buggles, Frankie goes to Hollywood).

Prince has always been one of my favorites. Seen His Royal Badness 23 times in concert, even got the chance to speak to him in London.
This has always been one his best remixes. The song entered the Dutch charts at 7.

St. Vincent blijft verrassen. Net als Bowie en Prince, blijft ze zichzelf elke lp opnieuw uitvinden.
Kan me nog haar eerste optreden herinneren (denk in 2006), ze opende voor Sufjan Stevens in Amsterdam (Paradiso) En ze had al meteen een eigen geluid.
Ik kocht ook direct de promo cd (Paris is burning) die ze te koop bij had.
Ze ontwikkelde zich al snel tot een eigenzinnige artieste en elk album bracht een nieuwe versie van haar tevoorschijn.
Deze nieuwe single beloofd weer veel goeds. Een elektronisch donker geluid met een dansbare beat en Tom Waits -achtige underground geluidjes.
Aah muziek is toch echt het cadeau wat blijft geven...
