All productions are recorded in native DSD256, the highest possible audio quality. These recordings are made in three different styles: Stereo, Surround and Binaural.

For the 25th anniversary compilation album of Cobra Records, I have chosen to select from the recordings we made in DSD during this period of 2007-2014.

To achieve the most accurate and transparent reproduction of these recordings, I asked NativeDSD mastering engineer Tom Caulﬁeld to re-master all the tracks entirely in the DSD domain, without any PCM in the mixing process.

To accomplish this, the original, unmixed DSD tracks from our archive were collected. The result is a complete Pure DSD album that matches the original recording perfectly, but in sound quality that even better matches what I hear in the studio.

More Pure DSD 256!

In the latest edition of Positive Feedback, music reviewer Rushton Paul is asking for more albums in Pure DSD 256.

He says "Even better are the recordings being made today with original tracking channels in DSD 256, then mastered in Pure DSD 256, with no PCM.

So this is what I'm living for today. More releases in Pure DSD 256. Because when you hear it, it's like listening to that elusive 15ips master tape, only better. With greater dynamic range, greater transparency, and absolutely closer to the music.

Stay tuned. Tom Peters (Cobra Records) who may be headed toward more Pure DSD 256 remastering from his DSD catalog, and Gonzalo Noqué (Eudora Records) who continues releasing outstanding Pure DSD 256 recordings and has led the way for the past four-to-five years, and Jared Sacks who says he's committed to making Pure DSD 256 releases on his new Pelle D'oca label, and Robert Hunka of Hunnia Records & Film Production who is releasing a new Pure DSD 256 recording every few weeks, and Frans de Rond who is moving the same way with new releases on his Sound Liaison label.

Oh, and did I fail to mention Bob Attiyeh at Yarlung Artists who always produces killer Pure DSD 256 recordings? Or Aular Soon who has been making some outstanding jazz and organ recordings in Pure DSD 256 released on his APSoon Recordings label?"

Happy to have this future release with The Hague String Trio.

Het is voor ons altijd extra bijzonder als we in onze thuisstad Den Haag spelen. Woensdag aanstaande spelen wij een lunchconcert van een half uur, vanaf 12.45 uur in de prachtige Kloosterkerk in Den Haag.

Op het programma muziek van twee Hongaarse componisten en vrienden die zich in de jaren twintig in Nederland hebben gevestigd: het eerste deel van het strijktrio van Zoltán Székely uit 1921 en het hele strijktrio van Géza Frid uit 1926. Beide werken zijn in Boedapest gecomponeerd en komen op onze nieuwe cd die wij eind april voor zullen opnemen!
