After being duped last year by the former owners, who declared bankruptcy two weeks after we fully paid our order, the new owners made us an offer to still make our order. Even taking the money we already lost into account, their offer was more than reasonable. Because their offer also included the option to pay after pressing and before delivery, we took the plunge. That paid off! After we agreed, communication starting going smooth. Even though they promised nothing, they went above and beyond to deliver a part of our order in time for our release show, which really saved the day. The rest of our order came shortly after, while they still hadn't asked us to pay yet, which they only did about a week after delivering everything. There were no surprises, no extra charges or anything. The order was made exactly as we planned originally and in good quality. They really went above and beyond for a small band like us. After what we went through with their former management last year, it was incredible how they took care of us.

End of an era. Deepgrooves had to find another HQ by end April 2025.

Grateful for the 3 million records we pressed at Blokhuispoort, Leeuwarden.

Thankful for the amazing team pressing high quality vinyl records, as green 🌱 as possible.

- local craftsmanship in a historical building (former prison)
- tourist and local attraction
- the only Dutch vinyl pressing plant that focusses on high quality, as green🌱 as possible vinyl
- 12 people with their families working hard
- focussing on independent artists and labels to realize their vinyl dreams
- we only need some extra months to prepare our next location (utilities, piping) get chiller delivered and steam boiler etc.

An asset acquisition from a curator has it's challenges when restarting the business with the best intentions for all stakeholders.

In previous posts positive progress with some suppliers were addressed.

In this post a heads up where we are with all 258 open orders we also inherited. 248 of those where pre-paid and not delivered by the old-co. 10 orders where not pre-paid and in communication to be finalized.

Without obligation we felt as Credible Music BV / Deepgrooves 2.0 that we needed to help this group of valuable customers. We calculated the costs necessary to finalize these projects and asked to contribute in our "out-of-pocket" costs (suppliers) where we would absorp all in-house production costs.

Here's where we are one month 🗓️ later:

- 87 (35%) accepted ✅ our gesture to finalize their music projects on vinyl
- 39 (15,%) we are in contact 📞 to work toward acceptance (practical Q&A's)
- 88 (35,5%) has not responded to our solution and has received a reminder 👋🏼
- 34 (13,7%) has rejected ❌ our offer due to various reasons (project done elsewhere, offer not acceptable etc.)

We are thankful 🙏🏼for the patience and willingness of 50+% of the ✅ group to continue working with us. The presses are running, test pressing being sent out, artwork in progress.

Good to know that basically the whole hashtag team has this as priority, to handle the numerous emails and calls and finalizing the high quality, as green 🌱 as possible hashtag orders. Great hashtag !

VINYL COLORS

When thinking of LPs, you probably have black vinyl records in mind by default. We don't blame you. But you should know that the possibilities at Deepgrooves are as infinite as your own imagination!

A little background:
Our granulate – the grains we melt to create vinyl records – is based on calcium zinc stabilizers. We chose them over the classic heavy metal variants, which are highly toxic.

We remove the labels from incorrectly pressed records and turn the remaining vinyl part into recycled granulate. Next, we mix approximately 10% of this with the granulate from new pressings.

This procedure does not harm the sound or vinyl quality at all. We do not recycle old vinyl records, partly because of their toxic components, as they often still contain heavy metals.
