Ay Kherel (Moonlight) was the name that Gennadi Tumat gave in 1994 to his ensemble. After Tumat died in 1996, the name of Ay Kherel was continued, illegally in our opinion, by one of the ex-members of the first Ay Kherel line-up. To distinguish between the latter and Gennadi's Ay Kherel, we decided to release this CD under the name of Gennadi Tumat's Ay Kherel.
Gennadi Tumat (1964 - 1996) was considered one of the greatest khöömei throat-singers of Tuva. Over the years there have been several different line-ups of the ensembles around Gennadi Tumat. On this CD we also included line-ups of ensembles prior to the advent of Ay Kherel, which we mentioned proto-Ay Kherel, for convenience sake.

In 1980 en 1981 bracht de eclectische folkband Chimera (uit Nederland) 2 LP's uit op het Stoof-label van Munich Records, die iconische items zijn geworden in de Nederlandse folkrevival. Deze 2 LP's zijn nu als CD uitgebracht bij Pan Records

Op basis van hun jarenlange ervaring heeft Chimera een unieke plek veroverd in de Nederlandse folkscene, met een muzikale stijl en aanpak die zelden in Nederland, of zelfs in Europa, te vinden is. Gebaseerd op traditionele Nederlandse teksten en muziek maar geleidelijk aan met gedurfde arrangementen, totdat de band in latere jaren hun 3e (2010) en 4e (2016) product uitbracht met geheel eigen werk.

In 1980 and 1981 eclectic folkband Chimera (from Netherlands) released 2 LPs on the Stoof label of Munich Records, that have become iconic items in the Netherlands folk revival. These 2 LPs, have now been released as CD on Pan Records

Drawing from their many years of experience, Chimera have forged a unique place for themselves in the Dutch folk scene, with a musical style and approach rarely found in the Netherlands, or even in Europe. Based on traditional Dutch texts and music but gradually with daring arrangements, until in later years the band released their 3rd (2010) and 4th (2016) product with completely their own work.

Choduraa Tumat — Singing River / Yrlyg Bulak

This CD contains 11 tracks of songs and melodies from Tuva, some are old and traditional, others are newly composed following traditional styles.
Choduraa worked for 7 years on this CD, the recordings date from 2017 to 2024. This CD gives an impression of her song writing abilities, her talent as a solo- and ensemble musician, and her versatility as a singer and instrumentalist.

All songs on this album are connected to nature, three of the songs are even about rivers. In Choduraa's own words: "My nature, my homeland's songs, my "inside nature", those songs are all important here. My love songs are also songs from the river — from my soul and my body. In nature a number of small rivers join into a bigger river. Here it is the same with songs that I collected over the years that come together in an album, like a "singing river", which is now flowing into the world".

Choduraa Tumat is a singer of traditional songs and khöömei, a multi-instrumentalist, and a highly esteemed independent scholar/researcher. She is the leader of all-female throat-singing ensemble , with which she made one CD on Pan Records (Pan 229, Ayalgalar / Melodies, 2019). She also released her solo CD "Byzaanchy" on Pan Records (Pan 232, 2021).

The cover was designed by talented young Tuvan painter Ayana Kuular, who incorporated motifs from traditional Buddhist painting into her design.

Oorspronkelijk uitgebracht als LP op het Stoof label van Munich Records in 1978 onder labelnummer MU 7445. Nu heruitgebracht als CD op Pan Records in 2024 met gehandhaafd labelnummer Pan 7445. Release datum: 15 mei 2024.
Deze LP is een mijlpaal geweest in de folk revival van Nederland. Wolverlei vond een manier om met traditioneel en hedendaags Nederlandstalig repertoire om te gaan, die een groot publiek aansprak. De LP kreeg zeer enthousiaste recensies en de muziek van Wolverlei klinkt vandaag de dag net zo fris als in 1978.

Originally released as an LP on the Stoof label of Munich Records in 1978 under label number MU 7445. Now reissued as a CD on Pan Records in 2024 with retained label number Pan 7445. Release date: 15 May 2024.
This LP has been a landmark in the folk movement of The Netherlands. Wolverlei found a way of dealing with traditional and contemporary dutch language repertoire that appealed to a large audience. The LP received very enthusiastic reviews and Wolverlei's music today sounds as fresh as in 1978.
