This is a link to the achirpan (shepherds flute) playing of Sergey Chkotua, who is featured with 3 tracks on the Pan Records CD "The Golden Fleece. Songs from Abkhazia and Adjaria" (Pan 2009). I assume this film is from the late 1990s. With thanks to Tamaz Kikoria for sharing the link.

In the 1990s we released 2 CDs of the Groningen-based world music ensemble Orient Express (Alora, in 1991, and Kara Tren in 1993). When they disbanded, three of the ex-members continued their musical journey in the ensemble Tarducci, with which we also made a CD (Edi, in 1998). It was always a pleasure working with them.
I recently found a clip of Orient Express on a VHS that I recorded in 1992, which I digitised recently. I'd like to share that with you. Here is the link:
