This coming wednesday, the 8th of april.. we will return to Resistor to present an evening of musique concrete, noise and crude sound collage with:

Francisco Meirino (Switzerland):

Francisco Meirino is a sound artist. His work explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure. His interest lies primarily in what is not supposed to be recorded : the end of life of electronic devices, electrostatic noise, hiss, magnetic fields and the unconventional use of music hardware and sound systems. His music combines intricate textures, sonic precision, wide spatial panning and is fascinating by its physical intensity and detail precision.

He mostly uses the modular synthesizer (Eurorack-Serge), microphone and field recorder, reel-to-reel tape recorders, analog tape echoes, electronic magnetic field’s detectors, computer and various home-made electro-acoustic devices.

Dead Door Unit (United States):

Philadelphia-based K. Geiger is active under the guises of Dead Door Unit, Master Grave Services, and his imprint French Market Press producing ultra-limited noise tapes (often 7 copies or less) in unusual packaging that echoes labels like Sound Probe or SFCR. Geiger combines harsh noise with fragmented and psychedelic junk loops to it's full potential.

Tzu Ni (Taiwan):

Tzu Ni is an installation/sound artist from Taiwan who's currently based in the Netherlands. Her work primarily utilises spatial and sonic installations as her practices; as to (de)construct the interconnected relationship between sound, gender and space.

ASCH (Netherlands):

Familiar faces treading unfamiliar territory. ASCH is a Dutch collaborative project featuring members of Svartvit and Geseling. They utilize various methods such as tape manipulation, digital processing, electromagnetic interference and field-recordings which result in feverish and crude sound collages.

Charnel Ground presents: Desolation Colony, Aska, Sharps Formation, Vincent Dallas, Svartvit & Geseling

Sometimes due to a complete coincidence we end up with multiple tours coming together on the same date. This is one of those occasions! On the 29th of march we'll head back to OCCII in Amsterdam with 6 projects from the United States, Australia, Iceland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Tickets are now available through OCCII's website. Be sure to get yours in advance, this one isn't to be missed!

Line up:

Desolation Colony (United States):

Joshua Strachan (Azar Swan, Blacklist, etc) and Tom Moore (Throne Heap) present a ruthless exploration of the psychologies and technologies of modern necropolitics conducted with grinding analog electronics and abrasive collaged samples.

Aska (Iceland):

Aska has effectively united melancholic melodies with unsettling noise. A dense web of microsounds is the result, without disturbing the reduced overall effect of the music. Co-existential to the haunting atmosphere of analogue synths and vocals, the drum-machine enters the scene with skeletal rhythms. Aska treads a wide spectrum, combining wave, industrial and noise.

Sharps Formation (Australia):

Ghastly and swarming tapeloops engulfed in static walls of noise by Minimal Impact's head honcho.

Vincent Dallas (Belgium):

Spontaneous harsh noise pushed into the red using field recordings and junk metal, fueled by high ABV trappist Ales.

Svartvit (Netherlands):

Exploring the boundaries of sound since 2009. Svartvit sculpts corporeal sonic landscapes that pulsate with raw intensity. Through extensive manipulation acoustic sounds are held captive in the liminal space between their point of origin & grotesque indecipherable slabs of distortion.

Geseling (Netherlands):

Focused and densely textured harsh noise combining scrap metal, field recordings, feedback and electromagnetic interference.

Coming up this saturday!

Charnel Ground presents: Hugo Esquinca, Adam Campbell, Svartvit, Kamloops, Awenydd & Hesker

On the 22nd of november we return to Resistor in Leiden for an evening of noise, tape manipulation and heavy electronics. The first in a series of shows to raise funds for next year's edition of Crude Transmissions.

Hugo Esquinca (MX):

Hugo Esquinca’s work is a multi-layered crust, intentionally obfuscated through excess, deliberately hard to peel. Whether by testing the listener’s ability to process sonic density and amplitude, or by pushing down on the functional event horizon of whatever system he utilises (from computers to trusty cardioid microphones), Hugo’s live recordings, site-specific installations and recorded pieces are a constant celebration of that in-between, dream-like grey area, and the collapse that comes with it.

Adam Campbell (UK):

Adam Campbell is a Scottish musician based in Berlin who works with improvisation, feedback and non-linear systems. With Tristan Clutterbuck he runs Fancyyyyy, a record label and publisher of cybernetic music instruments. Ongoing projects Ego Depletion with Fritz Welch and Butter with Tina Krekels and Grant Smith. Recent works include WHAT a neural pulsar synthesis system built in collaboration with Claud Speeed for Synthetic Minds at Medialab Matadero and collaborative performances with Audrey Chen, Nic Krog, Nat Phillips and Aonghus McEvoy.

Svartvit:

Cathartic expression through auditory destruction.

Kamloops:

Noise, loops and tape manipulation by Steffan de Turck-Trowell (Vatican Analog, Hexeneiche, etc..).

Awenydd & Hesker:

Bleak Electronics, first live collaboration by these Haarlem and Leiden based projects.

Back in stock! In case you missed out on a copy last time.. we decided to do a second (and last) run of the december batch. Tapes are up now in the big cartel shop.

CG05: Awenydd - To Bathe In The Bliss Of No Shape (C30)

"To Bathe in the Bliss of No Shape" is yet another statement by this Haarlem based noise outfit. After his live debut in 2023 and various homemade releases Awenydd has been on a steady road, releasing multiple tapes on various labels (Satatuhatta, Fusty, etc..) in a short period of time. With "To Bathe in the Bliss of No Shape" Awenydd presents us with 30 minutes of powerful cosmic/psychadelic noise.

no overdubs ∴ no ego ∴ no purpose

CG06: SMR.TNI - Isolation (C45)

SMR.TNI is a q***r multimedia artist from the Dortmund area with already a couple of releases under their belt on such labels as Silken Heart and Himukalt's EK Verlag imprint. Isolation continues where "Unrelieving" and "Unreasonable" left off, combining power electronics with harsh noise segments and a heavy vocal presence, featuring both lyrics and vocals by Ester (Himukalt) and Christine Kärkkäinen.
