Out now!

This is an English translation of “Essays on Marx’s Theory of Value”, first published by Isaak Illich Rubin in 1923 in the Soviet Union. It sparked a fierce value controversy with contemporary Soviet economists during the late 1920s. As such, the present translation is conceived as a variorum edition, including for the first time in English all the essential supplementary materials related to this foundational work in Marx’s value theory.

As we transition from Black History Month into Women’s History Month, we are presented with an opportunity to reflect on the complex intersection of gender, capital, and ethnicity; this is an ideal moment to engage with Simone de Beauvoir Studies Volume 34.2., titled "Sites of Coercion: Plantation, Colony, Metropole / Lieux de coercition: la plantation, la colonie, le métropole", and edited by Janine Jones.

This issue critically examines different sites of coercion, ranging from the plantation system in the Antebellum South and the French colonial empire to contemporary Maranhão, Brazil. It offers a thoughtful exploration of how these historical and ongoing systems continue to impact the lives and bodies of women of color.
