Italian photographer Daniele Occhiato is widely regarded as one of Europe's leading bird photographers. Since the early years of AGAMI, he has been a key contributor to our collection, building an extraordinary archive that now includes nearly 20,000 images in the AGAMI library.

A New Milestone!
In our mission to build the most complete and high-quality bird image library in the world, we’re proud to announce that AGAMI now features over 8,500 bird species online! A major milestone – and one we’re thrilled to share with you.
Species number 8,500 was the Vermiculated fishing owl (above), a seldom photographed species from Central Africa, by Dani Lopez-Velasco.
Thanks to recent contributions from photographers Dubi Shapiro, Andy & Gill Swash, Pete Morris, Tom Friedel and Dani Lopez-Velasco, the collection continued to grow – including many rare species from South-America, Australia and Africa. Next goal: 9,000 species—lots of work and increasingly difficult, but we'll get there.
