Meet Gunung Batu Muda, a young singing and dance group from the Gunung Batu Moluccan Church in Amsterdam. The group brings young people together through faith, friendship and Moluccan culture.

As part of Pacific Roots Fest 2026, the group contributes to presenting and sharing Moluccan culture as part of a wider celebration of cultures from Oceania.

Through traditional singing, dancing and playing the tifa, they learn, perform and share traditions that have been passed down through generations. With their own ideas and creativity, and with the support of the older generation, Gunung Batu Muda continues the cultural traditions brought to the Netherlands by the first generation of Moluccans.

Aii Kinabua Oo. A special cultural singing group where traditions live on and are passed down to the next generation. Echo of Tifa — a fitting name for a group, bringing together young people from Papua, as well as youth with both Papuan and Moluccan heritage.

Through traditional songs, they stay connected to their roots in West Papua and help carry this cultural heritage forward.

The Tifa, an important symbol of identity in both Papua and the Moluccas, connects these traditions and allows their shared heritage to echo across generations.
