“Paano ko na-maintain ang healthy habits kahit may 9-5 job?”

Real talk — hindi madali sa simula.
Kailangan mong iconsider ang oras, pagod, pera, at minsan pati motivation na nauubos sa dami ng ginagawa sa trabaho.

Pero isang bagay lang ang naging matibay sa’kin:
Malinaw sa isip ko kung anong gusto kong maabot.
Yung physique na gusto ko, naka-visualize na ‘yan araw-araw.

At dahil doon, naging blur lahat ng ingay sa paligid.
Yung distractions? Hindi na sila kasing lakas ng dahilan ko kung bakit ako nagsimula.

For the past 5 years, I lived by this:

“Starve your distractions, feed your focus.”

Bitbit ko ‘yan kahit anong shift, kahit OT, kahit rest day.
Kahit 30 minutes lang sa workout, basta tuloy.
Kahit simple lang ang meal, basta healthy.
Kahit pagod, basta may progress.

Life. Gym. Office. Repeat.
It’s not about being perfect — it’s about being consistent.

So if may 9-5 ka at gusto mong maging healthy, tandaan mo:
Hindi mo kailangan ng full gym setup or fancy meals.
Ang kailangan mo lang ay dedikasyon at malinaw na dahilan.

“Kung gusto mong magbago ang katawan mo, unahin mong palakasin ang isip mo.”

— Discipline hits different when your goals are louder than your excuses.

Minsan kahit anong effort mo, may mga bagay talagang hindi mo kontrolado.

Traffic. Weather. Opinions ng ibang tao. Timing. Rejection. Delays.

Nakaka-frustrate, diba?

Pero here’s the truth: you can always control how you respond.
You can choose to stay calm. You can choose to keep showing up.
You can choose to grow, kahit ang hirap ng season mo ngayon.

Focus on what you can control —
📌 your mindset
📌 your actions
📌 your habits
📌 your attitude

The world will keep being messy, unpredictable, unfair.
Pero ikaw… pwede kang maging solid, grounded, and unstoppable. 💪

“San ba talaga ako nahasa?”

Kanina umaga habang papasok ako sa office, usual Makati scene: lahat nagmamadali, parang may marathon na hindi alam ng buong bayan.

Ako rin, syempre, sumabay. Suot ko pa yung pangmalakasang marathon shoes — engineered for speed, tested sa mga fun run, at feeling ko nasa 50% effort na ko sa bilis ng lakad ko.

Tapos biglang dumaan si Ate.
Wearing… Crocs.
Chill. Walang tension. Walang pawis. Parang kaswal lang na namamasyal sa mall.
30% effort max — pero nilampasan ako like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Natahimik ako. Natahimik din sapatos ko.
Parang gusto nilang bumalik sa kahon at magpahinga na lang.

Doon ko narealize:

Hindi lahat nadadaan sa equipment.
Minsan, nadadala ‘yan sa exposure.

Iba talaga pag sanay ka sa pang-araw-araw na hamon — habol sa jeep, iwas sa ulan, lakad ng walang reklamo kahit traffic. Pag sinanay ka ng buhay, kahit Crocs ang suot mo, kaya mong makipagsabayan sa naka-carbon plate.

Kaya bago ka bumili ng sapatos na presyo ay kalahati ng sahod, itanong mo muna:

“San ba talaga ako nahasa?”

Saludo ako sa’yo, Ate sa Crocs.

Sesh! AUGUST NA!!! 🫨

Bakit ang sarap magstart ng bagong healthy habit tuwing first day of the month?

Kasi may magic ang “Day 1” — kahit hindi mo aminin, feeling mo ready ka maging bagong tao kahit kahapon lang nag-fast food ka. 😂

Ito 5-limang rason bakit mas maganda magsimula ka na ngayong araw:

1. “New month, new me” hits different

Hindi lang ito meme, totoo ’to.
Fresh start feels = legit motivation booster.
Parang may reset button sa utak mo.

2. Mas madali i-track progress mo – Day 1 of the month?

Day 1 ng journey mo. Pagdating ng 30th, pwede ka nang proud mag-post ng before-and-after kahit slight lang ‘yung difference. Progress is progress!

3. Less guilt, more grind

Kahit ilang beses ka nang nag “start ulit” this year, the first of the month always feels like the right time. Walang judgment — just go.

4. Perfect excuse bumili ng bagong gear

Admit it, mas masipag mag-workout ’pag may bagong sapatos o cute na tumbler. Mental health din ’yan. 😎

5. Masaya sa utak ‘pag may routine ka ulit

Discipline sounds boring, pero totoo: it gives your life structure. At bonus na lang na puwede kang magka-abs.

Kwento ko lang, paano ako napunta sa running era na ‘to.

Way back Feb 2024, chill lang buhay ko—masaya na sa paggi-gym at walang kaalam-alam sa takbuhan.

Tapos sabi ng partner ko: “Mag-running kaya tayo? Sali tayo ng fun run.”
Ako naman, “Oo nga noh, try lang.” At ayon na!

Una fun run lang… fast forward, hindi lang fun ang nawala—pati savings. 😅

Napabili ng:
- Running shoes (na pang marathon para in na in)
- Dry-fit shirts (feeling elite runner)
- Running shorts, smartwatch, energy gels, electrolytes, headband, socks…

Literal na akala ko takbo-takbo lang, pati pera ko tumakbo na rin. 💸😂

Worth it ba? Oo naman!

From “wala lang, try lang” to “runner na ‘to ngayon.”
From walking 2 mins to running 21K non-stop.
From tamad bumangon ng maaga to “kailan ang next race?”

Kaya ayun…
“Healthy in heart… but not in wallet.” 🫀😂

To anyone thinking of trying something new: Gawin mo na.Minsan kailangan mo lang ay isang:

“Tara, try lang.”

P.S di mo need bumili ng kung anu-ano para simulan yang running era mo. Gamitin mo kung anong meron ka ngayon. Upgrade ka nalang kapag ready ka na magutom. 😅

CHOOSE YOUR HARD, BRO!

Waking up early to train is hard.
Sleeping in and feeling regret all day is hard.
Lifting weights is hard.
Living with a weak body is hard.
Running in the rain is hard.
Watching your goals slip away is harder.

Discipline is hard.
But so is disappointment.

You don’t get to avoid “hard”—you only get to choose which kind.
One builds you. The other breaks you slowly.

Choose your hard today.
Don’t wait for tomorrow.
Because tomorrow doesn’t make it easier—
It only makes it heavier.

Hindi required, pero pwedeng makatulong—depende sa goals mo.

Hindi mo kainglangan ng whey protein kung:

1. Nakakakuha ka na ng sapat ng enough protein sa pagkain araw-araw (tulad ng itlog, manok, isda, tofu, beans, etc.)

2. Kung wala ka pang intense training (e.g. casual workouts, light weights, or 2–3x/week lang ang training)

3. Kapag budget-conscious ka at gusto mo munang pagtuunan ang balanced meals.

Kailan makakatulong ang whey protein?

1. Kapag hirap kang kumain ng sapat na protina mula sa whole foods.

2. Kung gusto mong bumilis ang muscle recovery at muscle gain.

2. Kung may fitness goal ka na nangangailangan ng higher protein intake (fat loss, muscle gain, or performance training).

4. Kapag may limitadong oras ka para kumain at kailangan ng quick, convenient option.

In short, hindi siya requirement, pero isa siyang convenient tool.

Food first, supplements second.
Mas importante ang overall nutrition, consistency, at tamang workout program kaysa sa agad na pagbili ng supplements.

Kapag kinain sa tamang oras, certain foods can support:

Ang tamang timing ng pagkain ay may malaking epekto sa overall health—hindi lang kung ano ang kinakain, kundi kailan mo rin ito kinakain.

Gaano ka-importante ang MOBILITY sa mga nagbubuhat?

Sobrang importante. A non-negotiable‼️

Hindi porket malaki yung muscle mo, ibig sabihin healthy at strong na buong katawan mo.
Kung puro buhat ka lang pero hindi mo inaalagaan yung joints, tendons, at full range of motion mo —
guess what? Magkakaproblema ka sooner or later.

✅ Weight training = pampalakas ng muscles
✅ Mobility training = pampalakas ng joints, tendons, at end-range control

Think of it this way:
Muscles = power
Mobility = control + durability
Lakas na walang control = injury waiting to happen.

So kung gusto mong tumagal sa laro — whether sa lifting, sports, o kahit daily life —
make time for mobility drills. Kahit 10-15 minutes a day lang.
Hindi kailangan fancy, basta consistent.

Train hard, but train smart.
