The Sustainarumble! Podcast is grateful to the The Climate Reality Project Philippines for the opportunity given to participate in the REalize 2025 Conference last week at The Executive Center in Makati City. The conference is co-organized by the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities.

The podcast team will also be rolling out our shared outputs with the TCRP team in support of the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP) which we hope will come out in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned in on this development.

The Sustainarumble! Team, in partnership with the The Climate Reality Project Philippines, is pleased to release our synthesis report on the results of our RE Energize PH Project. The report was released today as part of TCRP's continuing engagement with the Institute of Corporate Directors.

The project looked into how commercial and industrial end-users of electricity are aware about the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), one of the demand-side initiatives of the Philippine government under Republic Act 9513 or the Renewable Energy Act of 2008. Under the program, businesses that are eligible are guaranteed preferential dispatch of renewable energy at rates lower than what you get from the distribution utility or electric cooperative.

“With GEOP, the cost of electricity is lower than market rates, yielding operational savings. It encourages higher occupancy rates as the building becomes more attractive to tenants. GEOP also helps businesses achieve net zero by 2030,” said Kristina Samantha Pobre, sustainability manager of Arthaland, which developed Arya Residences, an RE-powered condominium in Taguig registered in GEOP.
