Dear followers,

After 14 years of work on the Chevrolet C8A, the journey has finally come to an end.
The restoration of the Chevrolet has brought me so much.
I’ve gained new technical skills in mechanics, welding, and electrical work.
But most of all, it has brought me friendships — not only with people far away on Facebook, but also in real life.

I am tremendously thankful to the MLU forum website and page.
Thank you, Hanno Spoelstra, for maintaining the forum.

There are too many people to mention, but a few I’d like to name because without their help this project would not have been possible.
My very special thanks go out to Rick Kuiper, Peter Schoon, Dennis Meijeringh, Stefan Leegwater, and Brent & Arie Hamer.

Special thanks to my Greek friend Kostas Skivalakis. It was a joy discussing the progress on your HUP, and I’m sure you will do an even better job than I did.

A new journey awaits… what would life be without a restoration project.

Thank you all so much — it was a fantastic journey and a true labor of love.

After the Centurion had replaced the Sherman as the main tank in the Royal Netherlands Army, the Sherman was relegated to other roles. In 1960, this M4A1 Dozer with the name URSUS was used by an engineers unit. In the footage linked below we can see URSUS demolishing an obstacle during a demonstration for the press.
Note that URSUS is an early M4A1 with direct vision slots. although these have been covered by additional armour plates during a rebuild.
