Liquor Store:
"Liquor Store" is an older song, written some years ago. The raw lyrics describe that empty, lonely feeling we all experience from time to time. This ballad truly hits a soft spot and has been a fan favorite for years.

Location;
The song "Liquor Store" starts with the line: "Sitting in my living room, drinking liquor, feeling down." It was only fitting to record these sessions in Uncle Hendrik’s living room. He has been like a Mr. Miyagi, helping me with the songwriting process for many, many years. These sessions are a tribute to all the support he has given me over the past years, not only with this country project but many before it.

Let us continue with a new SharQ Session by Johnny Chestpain.
A few weeks ago we released the first song (Songs for You) on this channel, today at 16.00 you can enjoy the second recording "Liquor Store".

This SharQ Sessions has been live recorded at the Sint-Lambertuskerk Gemonde (NLD)

This SharQ session captures TuskHead performing "Maybe", live with Keenan Schuck on pedal steel, recorded in Sint-Lambertuskerk in Gemonde, a small church from the 1920s, just across the street from where Patrick van Zandwijk, aka TuskHead, lives now.

Originally written in Nashville with songwriter Josh Morningstar, and later recorded at Modern Electric Sound Recorders in Dallas, “Maybe” is about the kind of love that’s slipping away, when one person’s still holding on, and the other’s already let go. It’s raw and direct, built on the tension of wanting something to work when it clearly isn’t.

Patrick grew up in Asperen, a small village in the middle of the Netherlands. While this church isn’t part of his childhood, places like it still feel familiar, tied to memories of his past. That sense of history and stillness finds its way into this version of “Maybe”, giving the song a little more weight, and a little more room to land.
