The work of the American avant-garde writer Kathy Acker was radical, experimental, and progressive. This year-long exhibition shows how Acker created a new, feminist literary language. She was ahead of her time in addressing topics such as gender and identity, opposed patriarchy and capitalism, and engaged with philosophical questions about meaning and insatiable desire. At the same time, her raw work, full of s*x and violence, is unmistakably the product of another era. How does Acker’s feminism resonate in 2026?

Van 17 januari tot en met 5 februari 2026 tonen Joshua Koomen en Wolter Schraa in de Rijswijkse galerie Arti Shock een gezamenlijke expositie waarin twee benaderingen van algoritmische beeldvorming samenkomen. In 2016, Yes The Void was set up as a reaction to the election of Donald Trump as the president of the United States, an alarming event that was telling about the state of humanity. Now that Trump is elected again, and fascism is still rising all over the world, a much stronger counter-narrative is needed. Bringing Yes The Void back to life, is the beginning of that. As before, Yes The Void will seek collaboration with artists and poets, but will also more explicitely give political voices a platform.
