To the attention of all who are artists, buyers, businessmen, have interaction with art or are simply visitors to one of the galleries in Amsterdam - Amsterdam International Art Community Amsterdam International Art Community. This gallery works without a contract with the artists, accordingly evades taxes from the state and claims to the municipality that it has been an active participant in the cultural program of Amsterdam 750 jaar - 1275 - 2025 events. We - a group of artists, were misled by the owner of the gallery - a woman named Sawita - that's all we know about her. She promised a contract and a copyright lawyer. We, the artists, trusted each other and together prepared projects and ideas for events that received approval from the municipality of Municipal Amsterdam Tax Department , department of culture. None of the artists received a contract. Everyone was forced to pay the gallery different amounts upon sale - once 35%, then 40%, 45%.It depends on the owner's decision.
There were many problems with sales, accountability and clarity. Most payments were made in cash, without any documentation.
Some of the events took place with great delay and almost entirely with the efforts of the artists themselves. It turns out that this gallery is not even registered as a company or non-profit organization.
In addition, the commercial art there is very carelessly thrown around, there is no order, cleanliness and arrangement. Regularly when exhibitions are held there, the gallery is closed without warning, which harms both artists and buyers, and visitors too. Personally, as an artist, I have sent a contract several times to the owner - Sawita from Thailand, to legalize our relationship, but it was never signed. The most unpleasant thing was that when I refused to be represented by this gallery and wanted to take my artworks, 4 (four) of my paintings were missing. Good thing I have a list of my works. The owner did not allow and did not want to search for or restore them and closed the gallery without explanation. I warn everyone who has had, has or will have interaction with this "gallery" - Be aware that everything is fraudulent, unmanaged and illegitimate. Protect your artworks, your ideas and keep away from this place.
A report has already been filed with the police in central Amsterdam and we await developments in the case. I will keep you informed.
