Gedoetjes going global: from Rotterdam to Tokyo!

We’re very happy to share that Little Problems by has been selected for the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, where it will have its Asian premiere in Tokyo. One of the largest short film festivals in Asia and an Academy Award® qualifying festival. The festival will take place from May 25 to Juni 10.

🥂 Nieuwe Korte Docu op komst! 💫 Voor het 3LAB documentaire traject gaan we met regisseur zijn documentaire Politiek IRL realiseren! In de docu volgen we jonge gemeenteraadsleden in hun 100 dagen in de raad en wat het betekent om jong en politiek actief te zijn.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been hiking and filming through the Pyrenees with an incredible team to shoot De Alpenkauw. Fueled by enthusiasm, resilience, energy, and lovely talented people, we captured the story of mother Tara and her son Ivan, wandering together through the mountains, relying on each other every step of the way - almost like a film crew 😉 🏔️🎬

Een paar jaar geleden hebben we samen met de serie MAUS gemaakt. Het verhaal volgt de tiener Maus, gespeeld door Walt Klink, die een surrealistische nacht beleeft in Rotterdam en iconische plekken bezoekt zoals het Centraal Station, de oude Tramremise, het Natuurhistorisch Museum, Cinerama, ’t O-tje en Café Kompanje. Met kleurrijke rollen van Annelieke Joosten, Theo Wesselo en Loes Schnepper. Nu als film te bekijken!

This story follows a teenager named Maus, played by Walt Klink, on a surreal night journey through Rotterdam, visiting iconic spots like Central Station, the old Tram Depot, the Natural History Museum, Cinerama, ’t O-tje and Café Kompanje. 🐭🐯🎬

In het kader van het educatieprogramma van bekeken verschillende scholen de film Maus en bespraken we met hen de kunst van het filmmaken! We deelden ons maakproces en begeleidden hen daarna bij het maken van hun eigen film over hun toekomstdromen. Ze hadden 2,5 uur om zelf een crew samen te stellen en hun visie waar te maken. De resultaten werden groots getoond op het scherm in LantarenVenster, met enthousiasme en talent in overvloed! ✨

Im August ist «The Indonesian Dialogues» im Museum der Kulturen Basel zu erleben.
Die multidisziplinäre Mischung aus Installation und Performance widmet sich der kolonialen Vergangenheit Indonesiens und deren Aufarbeitung.

Im Frühjahr 2024 reiste eine Gruppe von Künstler*innen aus Europa nach Indonesien und trat dort mit unterschiedlichen Expert*innen in Kontakt. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Dialoge stand der europäische Kolonialismus und dessen Auswirkung auf individuelle Schicksale. Das Erkennen eigener Vorurteile sowie Wege der Dekolonisierung wurden verhandelt. Das Ergebnis der künstlerischen Forschung wird in einer Performance mit Videoinstallationen, Live-Malerei und Musik präsentiert. Das Team erschafft einen Raum, in dem sich das Publikum zwischen diesen Erzählungen bewegen und selbst Teil des Dialogs werden kann.

Eddie Hara, the Swiss-Indonesian artist who created the scenography for our project The Indonesian Dialogues, recently found fresh inspiration during our trip to in Den Bosch, NL.

‘I started sketching in my hotel room and just finished two new pieces back home. The drives along the highways, the surrealism of Hieronymus Bosch, and the green landscapes of Noord Brabant really inspired me’, says Eddie.
